I’m kind of meh on all of them except Korpi (of course) but I’m very amused that Domi had better stats than Kane this season. Every time I watched it looked like Domi was actually driving that line….

I heard Jonathan Quick was keen on playing in C-bus.

Seriously, not really. Maybe Tarasenko has a little left in the tank for a 31 year old winger, but doesn’t really fit our needs. Maybe a veteran Russian presence in the locker room would help Chinakov and Marchenko? But not for the $7.5M/year he was getting on his last contract.

Other than that maybe bring Korpi back if he’s interested, depending on the price. I do have the feeling we’re going to bring in another goal tender with more experience than Tarasov in case Elvis continues to struggle.

I don’t love anyone but I’m all for a beefy middle six vet to guide the youngins and give us some more muscle. Killorn will be too expensive but he is kinda what I’m talking about

Depends on what we are going for really.

I mean David Krejci would check a lot of boxes (Bergeron obviously as well) but I don’t know that I see him playing for another team. I think we have to take a look at one of the Boston LDs if not a UFA then definitely a trade (Grzelcyk, Clifton, Forbort). We’ll see if they really like Orlov. If Grzelcyk gets pushed out for the playoffs, and Orlov is re-signed, I think he’d make a fantastic partner with Jiricek.

If we don’t get a 2C, or want to pack the middle a bit more, Evan Rodrigues and JT Compher both would look good on the roster.

I think the biggest thing to keep an eye on is if Calgary wants to retool. Backlund, Lindholm, Zadorov and Hanifin all fit organizational needs and it’s possible the LAK 1st is desirable to them.

Any veteran bottom pairing defensemen we can sign for too much money and term?

Would really love that Korpisalo guy on our team. Anyone know much about him???

  7. My head: not really imo, at least not out of this specific group of UFAs. Most of these guys either don’t fit a need for us or would probably prefer to retire over playing for a different team (Bergeron, I assume also Krejci). *Maybe* Raanta for goalie depth if we could get him for cheap since god knows he’s hurt half the season anyway, it would at least let us keep our guys in the minors down there longer lol.

My heart: One Magikorp please. :c

Big fan of JT Compher myself.

Edit: not sure what he’s asking for though

  9. adam3vergreen

Bergeron only to help teach Kent and Cole how to play center better

  10. Beartoes1

Sign me up for one of Killorn/Krecji as a vet forward and I don’t want anyone else (except Korpi 🥺) unless ghost bear is surprisingly solid defensively

Draft Bedard, and then sign Bergeron to a team friendly deal?

    Oh, would that be glorious.

  12. HermanBonJovi

I mean I wouldn’t say no to Kane but I doubt we can afford him.

Heard that Korpi guy was pretty good, but seriously do we have the cap space to get another splash signing or are we focusing on development and depth signings. I also guess the lottery has a role in this choice too.

  14. Orlov would be a massive pickup but he’s going to cost us 6 mil for probably 2 years and not likely to join.

Like on this board the only other player probably worth looking at with short term LHDs is Ghost.

I also wouldn’t be shocked if Jarmo maybe takes a play at a prove it deal with Monahan considering the JG connect but that’s an extremely risky gamble as while Monahan is good he’s worse than Boqvist with injuries.

Really this is a really aged out UFA pool that isn’t that interesting

  15. Articmnokey

Honestly if he can play Jonathan toews. If and onyl if we’re going the “veteran middle 6 C route.” We might as well get someone who is going to be a hall of famer and mentor whatever talented player we get in the draft. The fact we need a veteran presence and that athletic article that talked about how all these former generational guys had that type of talent around them to help out. Depends of course on whether he’ll Actually be able to play or not.

Edit: I’d also like to add Ryan O’Reilly to this category. Not a HOFer necessarily but veteran C who knows how to win. And what it takes for the cup

  16. Depending on what he wants I’d want Varlamov as a backup

  17. Ummm Bergeron!!! One of the best 2 way first line centres in our current era!!!

  18. Pokerpro7-2

Compher and Orlov are the correct answers here.

  19. DerDutchman1350

I do agree w getting a leader, who can teach the youth the essentials of being a pro. I doubt Towes, or Bergeron will be playing anywhere different next season.

  20. Drithyin

There are good players available. Don’t sleep on Michael Bunting. But I doubt many make sense for us, and any that might are likely not signing here willingly right now.

  21. MrThird312

Kinda nice not being on the board and having an off-season drama mama this year.
I mean, aside from when the world freaks out that we get the #1 pick (actually I think most people would be okay with us getting it over Chicago).

  22. phantom11287

Gostisbehere. Very underrated player but if he’s asking for term then hell no

  23. EaglesAndCubsGoat

2C and a top 4 d man. LD or RD idc

Plot twist, Columbus Blue Jackets legend Jonathan Quick resigns with Columbus after his short stint with LVGN!
