Positives of the game: 1pt, great recovery against a strong team after eating 10 the other night, Boosh, UPL, Mittsy, overall team game.

Negatives of the game: Olofsson, Victor Olofsson, VO, Goalofsson, Vic O, Zebras, not having Tuch.

  2. I know we lost, but what a great rebound game. People were saying last game would break this young team but that wasn’t the case.

  3. Son_Of_The_Empire

UPL would have had a shutout if Power’s skate was angled slightly differently.

Olofsson missed two open nets and got a goal negated while changing

    i am going to scream

  4. UncleOrton

I’m just gunna say it: Tuch getting hurt was not very helpful

  5. BARDLER

Wouldn’t feel so bad to lose a game like that if the idiots didn’t just go 1-5-0.

They played well enough to win. Hopefully they can keep it up.

Very unfortunate time to slump like this, but the inconsistency comes with being the youngest team in the league, the future is still bright, don’t let the present get you too down.

  7. BlackAce_BS13

Everyone played great aside from Olofsson, get him out of here please. Sit him idc.

Don’t think I’ve ever been this angry after a game. And not at the team as a whole either. Thought all the forwards played well in our own end and Luukkonen played well but to lose because of a bullshit call in OT, missed a double minor on Peterka, missed a boarding on Jokiharju, and to have a puck go off Powers skate and in. Fuck that’s so stupid. Not to mention Olofsson whiffing on two glorious chances to win the game.

The NHL will continue to be a joke in terms of professional North American sports. Utter shit product

  10. It’s cool that Dahlin can get hooked, slashed and mugged when he’s driving towards the net in the final minute. But the refs arm goes up at fucking light speed the second he puts in stick anywhere near Zibanejad.

  11. joeyg151785

We played extremely well, But these ones hurt more when you lose to teams like Columbus, Arizona & Montreal.

  12. jimmy_beans

Pretty good game, actually. We can beat them.

I don’t feel as Bad, we got a Point,After how rough it’s been we played good and got a point. I know Playoffs Are out of the question but we can still finish this season likely with a higher point total than the last 12.

And for the ref stuff, this may be a controversial thing for me to say but: everyone in the league believes the refs are biased against them

Edit: Downvote me all you want, it’s the truth

Sabres played the game they needed to today. Just couldn’t beat the refs and bad bounces.

  15. Green_hippo17

I thought we played well, tough to lose like that but I thought they responded strongly to a 10-4 shellacking

  16. JimmyMcNultyKU

Can’t win with a hand tied behind your back

  17. Chemical-Ad-1274

I honestly think the league hates the Sabres

Idc what anyone says that game ruled. Felt like a playoff game. Whole team played great and sometimes you don’t win.

I thought it was a well fought game against a tough team. The boys played well and actually played defense. Couple of guys deserved one today but their goalie stood on his head.

I still can’t get over how bad the refs have been for us. There were a handful of blatant penalties in the last 2 minutes that were waved off. I understand the hooking was pretty textbook, but oh god be consistent.

It’s so frustrating as a fan to watch these games not be decided on skill, but some old dudes judgement.

Anyway, glad we shook off the disaster against Dallas and got a point. On to the next one heads up

Blacked out in my area (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton PA so yeah totally NYC 🙄). Judging by the score we at least looked better defensively tonight? Maybe?

  21. dreamtimeboomerang

    1) bench oloffson
    2) waive comrie
    3) bring up Kulich for a few games. He’s been hot in the AHL and deserves it.

  22. ItsMcLaren

This game. I’ve been stuck on Nezerac since 7pm yesterday. Somebody please end my suffering.

  23. seeldoger47

They were much better today, particularly when it came to controlling the play in the neutral zone. Control the neutral zone, control the flow of play. Unfortunately luck wasn’t on their side as a crazy bounce and a great performance by a great goalie ended up being the difference makers.

  24. Sonny_Zwack

No possession in overtime? Well losing faceoffs will do that to ya.

  25. slightlyuglyboss

Devon Levi is playing on espn+, good game so far

  26. jaxsabresfan

Our biggest issue this year from a whole team standpoint is we haven’t found the ability to get to overtime. Look at all the teams above us and they know how to get the loser point. This is a win in the grand scheme for the team.

  27. cfhockey13

Different outcome if Lyubushkin could stay on his feet during the 4 on 3. He went down to the ice like 4 times in 45 seconds.

  28. hunterbidenslaptop2

We wore the black jerseys and still lost.. rip

  29. Yop_BombNA

Dahlin was himself again so that’s nice to see.

    Refs sucked ass, that’s not.

    Olofsson had shit luck tonight.

    UPL is legit

  30. Glad to see mostly positivity here. The boys played a solid defensive game while keeping the offense flowing against a very good team. I thought Peterka looked really good, and each game I see Mitsy buzzing and playing with so much energy my mind breaks in half, love to see how he is developing.

Next year Quinn and Peterka are going to combine for 50 goals. They have the skill, just need a little more time in the league.

But the one negative thing I’ll mention, and it’s not VO like most people are talking about… is Dahlin. Not negative overall, mind you. Dahls had a fantastic game overall. But he is penalty-prone, he leads our team in minutes, and there was absolutely no reason to hook there as the Rangers player was turning up towards the blue line. That little bit of immaturity, whether fans want to admit it or not, cost us a crucial point.

Anyway, just thought I’d point that out because I feel like it’s the elephant in the room. Hopefully Dahlin recognizes his mistake and has more discipline in tense situations in the future. Overall, we deserved to win, and that’s the most important thing to me so I’m happy tonight!

Our goalies definitely more help from the team in front of them, but upl played his ass off and got us a point
