GAME RECAP: Penguins at Predators (02.28.23) | Scoring for the Dads

The Penguins hit the road and head to Nashville to take on the Predators at Bridgestone Arena. In the 1st period, both teams fought hard but the board remained scoreless. In the middle frame, the Penguins out-possessed the Predators, but Nashville has done a good job getting shots in bunches. Nonetheless, after 40 minutes of play, there were not any goals yet, but the shots on goal were 26-22 in favor of Pittsburgh. In the 3rd period, things would change. The Predators would open up the scoring first on a goal by Mark Jankowski. Sidney Crosby had the response to tie it right back up. Shooting 5-hole, he would squeak the puck past the goaltender. With the clock ticking down, Jason Zucker shot the puck on net and with the perfect bounce off the goaltenders’ pads got the go-ahead goal for the Penguins. With seven seconds left in the game, Bryan Rust made a diving effort, swinging his stick with one hand to knock the puck into the empty net and seal the victory. The Penguins won 3-1.

  1. Slow start but a great finish. Jarry played phenomenal tonight as did Saros. Nice little breakaway from Sid and slow shot by Zucker to force an empty net and an empty net goal from Rust. Besides Letang's (hopefully) accidental turnover I say we played a good game. Lets enter these next games like battering rams.

Also this is the Predators not the Islanders, though a win over the Islanders would be awesome

  2. Pens at… Islanders..?

This is the Predators, not the Islanders.

Also 3 game winning streak is a W

  3. Islanders new alternate Jersey look good in yellow. Also love the new Islanders stadium and logo, perfectly represents New York 👍

  4. It was great to see Jarry, back to his true form, what a game! He kept the Pen's in it!!

  5. Defense was horrible . Too many chances . A better team would have ran up the score . I don't see where Ruuta or Diversity Hire Joseph is doing any better than Kappy .

  6. Sid with a clutch goal but that pass from McGinn was perfect, I know he hasn’t produced much but I would like to see him get another shot. I think Kappy being kicked to the curb I think guys see it as a bit of a wake up call

  7. Thank goodness they didn't replay the old timers' high 5's after Crosby's goal….really? Who cares?
