Draisaitl puts net back on moorings, finds “sliver of daylight” 🤏

Leon Draisaitl utilizes high hockey IQ and deadly accuracy to fix the net that he had knocked off its moorings and then snipe top shelf with only a few inches of room, extending the Edmonton Oilers lead to 6-1 over the Winnipeg Jets.

  1. Remember the stick flip Big save Dave?
You've been a laughing stock since hahahah

  2. that's what they teach goalies to do in that scenario, so you can't blame Rittich. Leon is just too accurate…

  3. Unfortunate that BEAUTIFUL snipe was to make it 6-1. Would’ve been way more hyped if it was closer in score

  4. This team is highlight reel team!!!! And the best part was putting the net back lol

  5. I’m surprised they let him do that. I wasn’t aware you could put it back on and keep playing. No whistle

  6. It looks like the peg never comes fully out of the ice or the post, so this question is probably moot, but is "net off moorings" a challengeable missed stoppage?

  7. that had to be the most accurate goal ive ever seen scored in hockey. you can see the goalie frozen to the post after it went in just in shock that the fans are celebrating. look how much room there was by his head lol.

  8. I'm sorry, Salty Jets fan here, but what was the penalty? Amazing shot, kinda just went "Well, what was that". I don't understand that penalty that was coming to Morrisey. Wasn't a trip or a hook, it honestly looked like Draisaitl just fell.

  9. Anyone that says Draisaitl is only good because of Mcdavid is crazy dude is my favorite player and I’m a CBJ fan

  10. I can't remember what youtuber it was, but he had a video a few weeks ago that said Draisaitl is over rated…..

  11. His accuracy is just phenomenal. There was such a small spot that was open and he got it in that spot. Also he had pressure from defenceman so just an incredible goal.

  12. I keep re-watching this goal. It’s unbelievable. The puck-sized opening that Draisaitl snipes from a crazy angle at live speed in a game is phenomenal. But add to that the fact that he resets the net during live play (no idea a player was allowed to do that), it takes this goal to a whole other level.

Even better, he pulls a great toe drag move off the rush that forces the Jets D-man to take a penalty, and that’s what sets up the whole chain of events.

Looking at the whole sequence together, this is one of the top 5 goals I’ve ever seen in my life. And I’ve been playing and watching hockey for four decades.

  13. This is the difference between Calgary and Edmonton. Even if Calgary fixes the goaltending, they have nobody who can score like the oilers

  14. Not any of the refs noticed the net came off a bit except #40 on the bottom left he was about to blow whistle but stopped as he saw Draisaitl put it back in time and play wasn't impacted from it, good decision by that #40 ref and sportsmanship by Leon.

  15. game "to do" list
    1) fix the net
    2) refill goalie's bottle
    3) "hold my beer"
    4) score
