[Travis Konecny](https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/205148/travis-konecny), Flyers are rebuilding, they need draft picks, their new interim GM said the rebuild would take years. Assuming Briere is the guy at the helm for the foreseeable future, what would you all think about trading for Travis? Not the biggest guy but seems like a gritty forward who will do what it takes to win and puts up points, at least according to this EP page. 5.5 million cap hit for the next two seasons.
Maybe a first and a prospect (I’m talking C level prospect here, not a Bolduc type prospect.) could get it done?
Thoughts?

If they can get him for cheap sure they’d take him, but we are definitely more looking for defense. Forward core and prospects are looking quite good for now. I would more look at what it takes to get provorov for a flyers deal.
I don’t see them letting him go for that little when they would likely be able to get more at the trade deadline this year or next year for him.
Unless Army was just putting up a smoke screen in his trade deadline interview, which he might have but can’t assume that until we know for sure, we’re not going to trade for anyone. Probably not even a defender. We have to somehow dump some of the dead weight off the defense currently before we can do anything.
Now to answer your question just at face value, yes Konecny would be a perfect fit. He’s the right age. He’s a top 6 player that plays hard, puts up points, and can play both center and wing. Army did say we know 7 of our top 9 for next year with hopes that Neighbours will be the 8th as he should be, leaving still a hole in the top 9 and the only types of players Army will want to bring in or add there are ones of Kenecny’s age and style or younger. Guys we can lock up for 5+ years and build around. But as I said above I just don’t see us being in the market for any forwards except maybe a cheap 4th line guy on a one year contract
Yes please. He would be perfect for this team and fill the Perron void
There would need to be a cap exchange like Scandella and Flyers retaining part of his contract, I think. I personally don’t think we should be “buying” for two year deals unless it allows us to get a young, controlled-RFA defenseman. I don’t think we are a contender for at least 2-3 seasons and one top-6 forward won’t change that unless his name is Bedard. Army’s done the right thing by picking up basically free one-year deals.
But it isn’t a bad suggestion given what Army said he’s looking for previously!
TK plays hard and can score. Would be a fit
Not at all. We’d have to give up futures for a player who isn’t going to do much to improve a deeply flawed team over the next two seasons.
I like Konecny the player, but given where we’re at right now he doesn’t make much sense for the Blues for the same reason that the Flyers are considering dealing him.
This is the opposite of the type of move the Blues should be making right now.
TK is a poor man’s David Perron. No thank you.
