  1. Great deal imo. Schaefer is basically a bottom 6 forward potential and it sucks Barrie is gone but we have Bouchard who is gonna be on the PP and might have a breakout because of it. Late to mid firsts have a 2.4% chance of playing 100 games and a fourth that’s useless. They also have enough cap to get a pretty good depth forward. Ekholm is legit a top 10 Dmen this year but he’s on Nashville who literally 24th on offence so his offensive numbers are automatically increase drastically. Nurse now probably doesn’t feel the need to have all the defensive pressure he’s had all year. Great job by Holland in my opinion especially if we make more moves.

  2. As an oilers fan I love the move. I don’t even remember the last time we’ve traded away our first. Ekholm is a better d man then barrie. We don’t need an offensive dman especially having a guy like Bouchard. We have a lot of prospects as well so Schafer wouldn’t have played until later on in the future. Giving Bouchard #1 pp time is also the key we’ve been waiting for. Yes barrie has 43 points but 28 of those are on the powerplay.

  3. From an oilers fan I like the move and was anticipating that price. However, I was thinking Nashville was going to retain a little more like 15-20% or so.

  4. I'm happy, I've been making almost $25,000 on my $5,000 investment every 7 days, God bless Gwen Tyler, all thanks to my friend for introducing me to her.

  5. Holland what an idiot they could have had a Stanley cup with EK65 and that moron just blew it ,the star players must be disgusted!

  6. great move for the oilers imo, the defense has been an obvious struggle and even though Barrie has played much better this year Ekholm brings some much-needed stability to the defensive core as barrie was even at his peak a below-average defender in his own zone. The first-rounder and Schaefer isn't the worst to give up as realistically neither of those players would end up on the team when the oilers go all in.

  7. Ken Holland is absolutely the worst GM of the past 20 years. Just terrible trades and contracts in a never ending stream of incompetence. What an overpay

  8. Man I love this move for Edmonton, but I’ll mis Barrie. He was good defensively this year and offensively, great on the power play and a loved locker room player

  9. 1:43 "Now he's a Predators prospect, that is indeed still quite young." I think that's called grooming lol

  10. Can't believe how crazy this run up to the deadline has been! As for this trade, it looks like a smart move for the Oilers.

  11. Good Deal. I think Ekholm will be way more dependable than Edmundsen or some of the other defenseman who were out there.
They need Dmen and to get rid of the that 4.5$ million cap hit.
    Wow 6.625 for Ekholm
Dumped Puljujarvi without having to give up anything extra. That was great .
Dont really have any more room. Still and they need more help.
Second pair is still Ceci Kulak. Yikes.

  12. so the predators lost to the predators in the final? thats crazy but congratz to the predators

  13. More interested regarding Korchinski and Sawchyn from Seattle. Heads up. Otherwise, both teams got something they were looking for. Hope the teams keep it going.

  14. Huge trade I love it just want we needed here in Edmonton. Although I am wishing Barrie the best in Nashville, tough to see him go

  15. If the oilers can figure out their defense they are going to be a legit cup threat. Their d has been the only thing holding them back for years.

  16. I hate that trade. Don't get me wrong, Ekholm is a fantastique fit for the Oilers, but Barrie, a 1st, and a good prospect??? Come on man.

Oilers get a shutdown dman in return of a great OD, a first (probably in the 24 range) and a former 1st round pick.

    This is non-sense to me.
