Matt Luff has been recalled by Detroit on an emergency basis, for what reason we still don’t know. Luff has 4G, 6A for 10pts in his last 11GP with the Griffins.     Would Yzerman be a better GM if the Red Wings were able to draft Jack Hughes and Tim Stutzle? They've had bad lottery luck which has severly hurt this rebuild. So it's not just a case of Yzerman finishing his job. The Red Wings and Yzerman need some luck or this rebuild will not succeed.

    Last time Luff was called up he stated in a interview that he was there "to take someone's job". Not something a team first would ever say. Getting a puck to the face and breaking an arm looked like charma.

    I’m not sure about the Red Wings but I think Brian is the saddest locked on podcast host when he has to share the limelight with Scotty and the happiest when Scotty is freezing in the dark with no power and he gets to talk all his nerdy analytics by himself. Lol

    I don’t just want to make the playoffs I want this team to contend. One of the most savvy (if not the most savvy) GMs in all of hockey has multiple assets to work with to make big trades, and or draft players. Nothing to be sad about when Yzerman has 5 first rounders in the next two drafts. I think we should be pumped about what he’s going to do with all that capital.

    Lalonde mentioned they had 3 call-up spots available in one of the press meetings a few days ago. Maybe they just called up Luff as a 13th forward.
