I have three kids smack dab in the middle of the intended demographic, huge Big City Greens fans and Wild fans as Minneapolis kids, and all three are sitting here completely glued to the TV. They watch Wild games with me a lot but have never been this still and quiet throughout the course of a game. This is pretty cool!
Kevin Weekes is doing the color for the animated version of the game and hasn’t missed a beat when referencing the characters in place of the players the technology is tracking while also calling the actual players animated. He is a rockstar! This was a great idea by Disney and the NHL.

They even had announcers wearing motion capture suits in a studio to render their own live virtual announcers in pretty much real time
Not young enough to have any idea what the show they’re referencing is, but I thought they pulled the whole thing off pretty well, they basically rendered a live hockey game into Wii U sports-esque avatars with only minimal delay.
And they were able to pretty smoothly insert their own IP characters. I think this was a well done beta but that the future potential and implications are enormous.

I thought this was really cool. It was definitely a little glitchy and clunky at times but still fun. If they iron out the kinks and are able to make more animations it think it will be a big hit. To me this was like watching a game of 3v3 NHL arcade on the PS3 and we need to work our way to NHL23 type animation. All that said I would like to see something involving AR like the NFL and Nickelodeon. I think that would be awesome.

I appreciate them exploring this proof of concept.
But this really opens the doors for other themes/skins from different IPs; just like how Fortnite has done with Marvel and many others.

this is fun! if they can fine tune it, it could be really great. it’s the right amount of ridiculous to be entertaining to me as an adult and i definitely would have loved it if i were a kid. this rocks.

This is honestly how you can grow the sport. Getting kids interested in a sport can make them fans or players, which is the best thing.
