Giving up 3 PP goals is not a recipe for success. Dallas is a very good team. Hope these games help us find another gear for playoffs.

  2. Go_Hawks12

Played flat and completely bullied the whole time. Hell bring up Driedger, can’t possibly be worse

  3. LC_From_TheHills

Ultimate first world problems: I missed the Ducks game, so I haven’t seen a home win since Feb 18th

  4. stuckinflorida

Anyone but Dallas in the first round please.

  5. CheeseBiscuits

Lost at every phase of the game to a playoff team. If we don’t tighten things up and be consistent then we’ll be looking at an early round exit, if we even make the playoffs.

  6. MisterMyAnusHurts

That was painful to watch. The lack of defense is astounding, and the energy on the face off after we score is non existent. We have too many defensive liabilities on this team.

  7. SiccSemperTyrannis

    The good: Vince Dunn

    The bad: the power play

    The ugly: the penalty kill

Let’s hope we don’t draw the Stars in the first round.

    Oh no we suck again!

All jokes aside, not as bad as the Sharks game.

  9. nuclearhaystack

Holy hell I hope we carry on our road winning ways by the time we hit Rogers Arena again, I don’t think I can stand to be an away fan and lose to the *Canucks*.

  10. applejuicerules

    Well, at least I…*still* don’t live in Texas… 😒

  11. Massive-Cycle2267

My five year old who just finished his ice skating lessons plays better defense.

Obviously disappointed at a loss today….but losing to clearly better team feel less worse. This was a good reminder of how breadth is great when everyone stays out of the box. Unfortunately playoffs tend not to be decided on 5-on-5, but with star power on special teams.

Anyway, I am so happy with where we are on year 2. If we make playoffs, that’s nice but I am not super-disappointed if it does not happen. The future looks great. Let’s prioritize signing Dunn. I think he is our best player, he has the awareness of great defender and hunger of a great forward. Matty also has a great year, but full NHL season is grueling for a rookie (and that’s what he still is). It will only be uphill from here!

  13. Been a couple weeks since we shit the bed. Let’s not do that again soon eh?

  14. Dracorana

I am sad on the light rail and I have no comfort ice cream waiting for me at home. How’s the commiseration going?

  15. BeyondThePermafrost

I chirped as hard as I could all night.. Pretty sure Oettinger was looking at me in the 2nd…. My voice is gone. I tried.

  16. Marxbrosburner

Is it possible we are good, just not top tier yet?

  17. pokeroots

Man I’m still not feeling that defense is a strong point of the team like all the outsiders say. Like agreed that goalie is probably our biggest need but damn the defense still doesn’t feel like it’s been good

  18. mrbeavertonbeaverton

That’s cracks in our hockey team, baby

  19. SonOfZork

I was impressed. I didn’t think they could play worse than the other night and they surprised me and did. Body language was off. Matty was awful tonight. What’s astounding is that the difference was the shitty penalty kill. Five on five they were level.

  20. Fun-Alternative-1328

Dunn was hustling. The refs sucked. Dallas outplayed us in every way especially defense.

But I got a free tee shirt and got carded at the bar while buying a drink. So it’s not all bad.

  21. M-Houndoom2

Special teams were an embarrassment last night.

And once again, our guys have allowed a single L to balloon into a 3-game mini-slump. This annoying pattern has to stop.

And finally, fuck the Dallas Stars.

  22. juanthebaker

The Saturday game doesn’t really bother me. It was painful, but the effort was there and we came up just short. I think we win that game 6-7 out of 10 times against a good team, and I’ll take that.

Last night was a total dud. The passing wasn’t there, the effort was rarely there, the defense, well… I know there will be games like that over the course of a season but laying an egg against a quality opponent at this point in the season does not bode well for the playoffs.

We’re a good team. It’s not the end of the world. But I expected us to respond better after a stinging loss.

  23. juanthebaker

Were the Larsson trip and the late tripping no call as bad on TV as they looked in person?

Oh, and what happened with the Borgen high sticking? He was feeling for blood after the play and looked like he thought they got the wrong guy.

  24. flanman1991

If we could stop randomly passing the puck directly to the other team….that would be great
