Mikko Rantanen led the way on offence with a goal and two assists and Cale Makar added a goal and an assist as the Colorado Avalanche held off a third period rally from the Ottawa Senators to win 5-4.
Them not blowing the whistle on the Avs 5th goal is an embarrassment to nhl officiating…. Like what? So u don’t blow that down but with 3 seconds left in the game u blow it dead to stop the play when it wasn’t even close to being covered
Wait a minute. You are telling me that Johansen @ 7:14. With his back to the goal. Spread Eagle in a REVERSE Position…..Totally scrambling!! Has more control of the Puck than Sogaard? Totally BS!
Sogaard clearly covers the puck thinking a quick whistle would come. That type of goalie stoppage has always gotten a quick whistle in the past. It makes no sense. It was an icing call that was negated by Sogaard covering the puck which ricocheted in to his crease. Obviously he's going to cover it for the stoppage. smh. Go Sens Go!
That 5th avs goal is gonna be a dang it…idk what's going on there it probably should be icing first, then he covers it right? I know he doesn't hang onto it but still. Coming from an avs fan. Also, the final save by Johannson! That oughta be a hat pick 😂
John Vogl from the Sabres media continues to get force fed L's with his Jonas Johansson take from 2 seasons ago when the trade happened that sent him to colorado. "I can say without hesitation that the Avs are getting the worst goalie I've seen during my 19 seasons covering the Sabres. He doesn't stop pucks in practice or games."
Jonas ain't perfect but he more often than not gets the job done behind this group when he plays. Legendary save at the end there by Jonas, game puck for him.
The officiating was outright junk for NHL level hockey. From icing calls that should have been waved, to bad penalty calls, non calls, and the garbage non whistle on the winning goal. These refs should be fired and never call another NHL game ever.
That 5th goal is the biggest joke of all time. Missed icing call. Sogaard %100 covered the puck and they missed that, and then goalie interference clearly his leg was pushed in the net. Officiting is a joke.

I don’t want to hear a single Sens fan complaining about refs.
Avs won 4 straight but all against weak teams! Sens with better goal tending would have won!

Big shout out to the refs for calling FOUR phantom penalties against the Avs in this game to try to keep it even!
I have never seen refs work so hard to get a team a point and they still failed. Go Avs!

Remember when the Sens beat the Rangers and Sens fans were chirping about how they were "better built" than the Rangers and a "better team by far"?
Fast forward a couple weeks and the Sens are 2-5 in their last 7 and further out of the wildcard than ever. 😂😂😂

I think both fanbases can agree the officiating was ATROCIOUS all around. Good game besides that.

Sens are probably the best non-playoff team in the league right now. Not looking good for them this year they have a lot of talent
