Good deal for both sides, Chicago gets assets plus Borgstrom who’s development has stallled but if used right, going to be a good top 6 player. Florida gets cap space for the big guys.

The trade shows that the Panthers are going all in to try to win the cup. They are going to get a big time player at the deadline most likely, which will boost their lineup. They have just over 15 million in cap space, so plenty of money to make that move. Great trade for the Panthers, and for the Hawks, they get some assets and a pick.

This trade just seems like nothing for nothing. If a bigger trade is coming, it will come from elsewhere now that the Islanders and Devils have unofficially opened the marketplace. I think Chicago could have offered the Panthers more and better players but they simply ran out of prospects named Lucas.
