Ryan Reaves joined NHL Now on Thursday to discuss his time with the Minnesota Wild since being traded in November and the role he plays on the ice.

  1. Most illogical take on why fighting is needed in the game. "Because you need to protect your superstars". Look, if the NHL had significant consequences for certain types of behaviors, and enforced them, there would be no need for fighting. Fighting takes away from the game and damages the players both mentally and physically. Face it, fighting is in the game because it appeals to some, maybe even most of the fans. Take a look at high school hockey – proves the point. High skill with virtually no fighting. No BS.

  2. I can't think of another player who has had more impact on the NY Rangers who played on the team for only a year. Ryan really was a key component last year. The Rangers have an outstanding fourth line now with Vesey, Goodrow, and Tyler Motte. Otherwise, Reeves would still be here. NYC will always welcome him back to MSG. Would be interesting to see if the Rangers and Wild play for the Cup this year…
