Was very curious about him. Had a good season in Liiga, but wasn’t sure that he’d get a contract. Interested to see how he does back in NA next season the transition shouldn’t be as difficult having played here before.

Good for him. He seemed to have a rough time in Denver. Maybe their scheme didn’t fit his style of play? Looks like he’s played much better in Finland than NA but I hope he can elevate his game in GR. We need help on that right side.

Did not expect that at all, he hasn’t been a prospect that looks like he has an NHL future for years. I guess being one of the few RHD in the system pays off.

Put up monster numbers in the Finish juniors, was completely unremarkable and arguably got worse in two NCAA seasons and now seems to be doing well in Liiga.

I didn’t expect this. Hope his lateral skating has improved. It didn’t seem like his development trajectory was positive.

  5. Surprise, surprise, surprise. I didn’t see this one coming.

Glad to see him signed. Yzerman really went off board when he picked him way back when. Hoping it pays off

Just from little snippets here and there, I thought they’d become Antii Tuomisto.

Apparently, they’re not Finnished with him yet.

Here I thought he was done with North America. Pleasant surprise. Let’s hope it works out for him and us.

I mean why not get him a closer look, he’s the only thing on the right we have

meh. Maybe he’ll turn out okay. Probably not, but there’s talent in him.

Kind of a rough go in Denver but better in Finland means not great on the small ice to me. We’ll see but I don’t think he makes it.

What are the normal amount of years given for most entry level contracts?

  13. Oh man, even though I know i mentioned it in comments on here that he was having a decent Liiga season this year.

That he **might** be coming over. I still thought it was just a small chance and wasn’t putting a lot of faith in it.

I’m surprised you’re all surprised. Kronwall was seen working with him multiple times, and we traded Hronek leaving basically no RHD in our pipeline. Combined with the fact he had a good season and I’m not surprised they signed him. Clearly they see some sort of potential, and even then they were likely gonna toss a contract at him considering we have nobody besides him who is RD

A little surprised but guy is still only 22 and may just be a late bloomer.

If you cracked the NHL at 26 and had a solid 10-year career on third pairing D, that’s still a pretty good return in comparison to all the guys that never make it.
