Erik Karlsson calls officials 'disrespectful' after no high stick penalty | NBC Sports California



Erik Karlsson speaks with reporters following the Sharks 6-0 loss vs. the Avalanche Tuesday night. Karlsson was assessed a misconduct penalty for throwing his helmet on the ice in the third period after taking a high-stick to the face that was not called by the referees.

  2. No excuse for the officials missing that call. Where are the refs looking? This happened with the puck in EK65's possession. Are they watching for goalie contact and at the opposite blue line point? There are 2 refs for a reason and they clearly missed this call. I've seen many players throw their heads back and get immediate calls on phantom high sticks.

  3. No disrespect but hockey is arguably the most violent team sport in mainstream so uh kids are probably used to any kind of violence on the rink by now. Karlsson had every fight, the whole role model shtick doesn’t really land in nhl let’s face it
