Simon Edvinsson Makes His NHL Debut! | Ville Husso Pulled in Loss to Colorado Avalanche

Simon Edvinsson made his NHL debut on Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche. He played fairly well, making significant zone entry denials, while still making a few flubs. But the Red Wings were still out gunned by the reigning Stanley Cup Champs, losing 5-1. Ville Husso was ultimatley pulled in what was a likely a ‘let me save you’ rather than a ‘you stink’ move. Previewing the Florida Panthers. #lgrw

  1. nothing like throwing the kid to the wolves his first nhl game! lol he looked pretty good to me thought he handled himself like he belongs up here very soon?! 🤷‍♂️🤔👍👍

  2. Saying half the team didn't show up based on the analytics isn't really fair. Like McKinnon was on the ice for 15 minutes 5v5, and Walman/Seider were out there for 11 of those. So of course their numbers aren't as good. The Avs have elite talent that we don't have.

  3. there you go @BrianFischer. We gave up on Ned realistically after a few games but forget how bad the team in front of him played for some of those games. Ned did the same thing overall for at least half of last year as Husso has been this year. Ned has apparently been doing well in GR…..Why haven't they given him another chance at backup? or 1b if he shows worth it. We thought it would work out as such at the beginning of the year but even with the horrible defence on the team he was given little to no chance. Was he as good as previously? No. Did he look like a 1b? no. Could he be better than Husso? I doubt that a little but how can we know when other than the stupid high workload he got last year.. .. he has has basically once chance since last year. A bad start yes but I think he deserved a chance to go for redemption

  4. For at least 1 segment, you'll have to explain what you see in Zadina. Cause he is one of the most non-existent players on a team I've seen in a while.

  5. Exactly..
most of our “top” forwards would be role players on a strong team.
So when the top 2 lines suck in a game,
we think some guys like Pussis Suter, and Copp are “shinier” they actually are because of two decent plays they had. 😂
