Sam Montembeault made 31 stops on 33 shots and Jonathan Drouin scored a goal upon his return from being benched on Saturday night as the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2.

    Lightning played 71 more games than any other team that did not make the playoffs between 2020-2022, such as Buffalo, for example. It's almost like playing one extra season (under playoff conditions) in three years, which is completely crazy.

    Something doesn't make sense, why are the Habs who are a worse team than the Leafs able to beat the Lightning, but the Leafs cannot? Why do the Leafs always choke in the playoffs and who wants to sign choking players anyways? This idea that Auston Matthews would leave the Leafs for his hometown team in Arizona doesn't make sense because if I was the GM of the Coyotes why would I want to sign a choking playoff player to my team to begin with?

    Monty gets lit up night after night but he keeps putting in great efforts. Both habs goalies have been great all season despite the results.

    Years back when the Wings lost after winning back-to-back championships, the Wings lost. After having years of lengthy playoff runs, the team ran out of steam. After six seasons of watching the Bolts, this season has most reminded me of that time.

    One win = two players out. I honestly can’t believe this season is real. We were .500 which was pretty good for a team as young as ours than pretty much any player who was doing anything of value for the team got injured.

    Edit: Also if Sergachev doesn’t get suspended for that slew foot I won’t even know what to think anymore.

    Edit #2: I swear Tampa only plays good when they’re in front. Once they’re behind they turn into the biggest bunch of sore losers I’ve ever seen.

    tampa has played more total hockey than any of these losers that cant make playoffs dont care about this loss cause my bolts are ready to win when it matters

    можно только надеятся, что в плей-офф, куда Тампа зайдет, у них все-таки проявится агрессия в атаке. К их академичности уже все привыкли.

    Let’s all take a moment to remember Drouin at his best. He scored a beauty and was engaged against the team that drafted him. For a brief moment in time he looked (almost) equal to Sergachev but we all know he will be playing somewhere else next season. Good luck!
