Man, lightning have been playing with 0 urgency almost every game. Between the cups and knowing who you’re gonna play in the first round since December, I get why but it hurts to watch. They had a 5-1-1 stretch where they looked like their normal saves but now they’re just asleep every game. We’ve seen them turn on a switch before (like last year when they violated the leafs 8-1 after a month of mediocrity) but you have to wonder if they can keep doing it. Also, I felt really bad for Elliot today, everyone was blaming him for the loss when he was by far the best lightning player. Outside of the last goal, the goals he gave up were not his fault. Even Vasilevskiy, Shesterkin, and Hellebuyck would’ve given up most of those goals. Hoping they play better on Saturday. They’re gonna need to because Boston has destroyed everyone this year.
