The kids have fight in them. Can’t remember ever being excited to see what happens by pulling the goalie.
That two minutes of play were awesome to watch. BUTTT another injury during this game, hopefully he doesn’t end up on the injury roster.
Well at least that game wasn’t a waste of time. Fuck those refs tho.
If we sacrifice Hynes to the hockey gods will that be enough for the refs to get over the Tim Peele incident? Because they’ve been on some number one bullshit this weekend.
These kids need to learn to shoot the fucking puck, that ending sequence was ridiculous. We just got rid of Granlund, I’d rather not see the new guys turn into guys who never shoot because they’re so fucking focused on setting someone else up. Shoot. The. Fucking. Puck.
I love that our top PP unit only has 1 guy that started the season with us. Ah, yep, also applies to basically the entire roster.
Super stoked for most of them too!
Pretty entertaining game, and you can only be proud of the young guys for that effort. Pretty soft penalties called against us, and the Leafs still struggled against a borderline AHL team after Dutchy was injured.
All things considered… we only lost by 1 😉

This is why I am not sold on Barrie.
Now that the game is over, can we take a minute to talk about that statue? It is.. just really fucking ugly??
Edit: I really didn’t realize this would be a hot take. I love Pekka but the face on the statue looks like a plastic surgery disaster or something. Folks were giggling about it in the plaza before the game so I can’t be the only one who thinks this.
Dutchy update:

We hung in there against the leafs & refs so I’m not even upset about that L
Duchene is probably done for the season, I guess?
The party with the perhaps delusional playoff dreams is almost assuredly over, especially with Duchene out. The Jets have three games this week and should win the first two, while the Preds have Boston and Pittsburgh on the road.
I was hoping they could at least stay in the hunt so these games meant something. They still mean something for the young players’ careers so it is not so bad.
This was my first hockey game ever, and I know absolutely nothing about hockey. But those 2 goals the Preds scored were absolutely electric. I think I’m hooked, go Preds!
