TAKE US HOME CAPTAIN
I wasn’t worried. No-doubter.
Joseph Woll is the goalie of the FUTURE. Love the guy.
Joseph Woll
I like Woll…
Woll was great. Only beaten on deflections. I hope Keefe gives him some runway because I have lost confidence in Murray.
Great bounceback win on a B2B! Shoulda had more than 3 goals and their 2 were pretty lucky. Good defensive game, Matthews continues to look dangerous. Lets keep building momentum for the playoffs!
Well, that last three minutes was scary. But fuck yeah Great Woll and Johnny Toronto! Matthews looked ferocious most of the game too, so that’s cool.
Honestly cant say I have any complaints with how Woll played, some unlucky bounces, and the guys couldnt clear the zone. End of the road trip, lets see how we do at home before freaking out!
OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN
Woll had a great game!
I caught the last 7 mins. Sounds like Woll played well?
Happy with the result. Probably should have been 3/4 or even 4/4 on the weekend but what can you do. We’ll clinch by Wednesday and then it’s game on for the playoffs. Let’s hope everyone stays healthy and that’s it.
Very happy with Woll too. Doesn’t swim and beat by deflections. Can’t complain about that. Looks solid.
Another good game. Few noteworthy observations:
1.) Murray is definitely going to be traded for cap space this summer. Woll is more than ready to tandem with Sammy.
2.) this feels like the playoff defense core. Have McCabe / Brodie eat the toughest minutes, Gio / Holl right behind and heavy sheltered / OZ starts for Rielly / schenn. I love liljegren but it seems this is where it’s heading
3.) this will likely be my least popular take – but is Kampf a top 12 forward on this team when ROR is back ? He has been struggling mightily in his own end the past 4-6 weeks and for a guy who’s value comes from defensive plays and heavy d-zone usage, combined with Acciari filling that role better and bringing something different with physicality, im not sure. No way he isn’t in the playoffs because keefe loves him, but much much less confident we see him back next year than I was 4 months ago.
Another pretty good game! Woll played well, even though he didn’t score I thought Matthews had excellent jump. Same for Nylander, he was moving well. JT obviously with the two big goals, and I’m glad to see Kerfoot getting some confidence back.
Defense looked mostly good after the first few minutes, and oddly enough I thought ZAR had a really great game as well.
Nice, pretty quiet Sunday night win. Keep that buffer up over Tampa, build some momentum with a few pretty good games in a row. Maybe the new guys are starting to gel a bit better?
Woll is amazing, can’t blame him on any of the goals. Mathews looks like the franchise player he is, absolutely dominating out there.
I don’t remember seeing Bunts after that one sided exchange with Keefe.
Gotta say, leafs start of games and finish of games is total ass.

Can’t wait to see Woll have more of a role on this team. Wouldn’t mind seeing him back up Sammy next year.
Big hits from Holl and Schenn tonight, love to see it.
So… Woll seems pretty dialled in over all. They should play him a lot more.
Matthews still at 77 points in a down year and he’s heating up at the right time of year.
Not that it’s the goal here, but if Florida doesn’t win tomorrow against Ottawa then the Leafs clinch. Even an OTL clinches the Leafs divisional spot; the magic number is 1. If Ottawa doesn’t do the job tomorrow, the Leafs can make it official Wednesday against Florida themselves.
Being 7 points up with a game in hand over Tampa for home ice is looking really good with only 9 games left (and 8 for TB).
Järnkrok is such a stud.
I think our position is pretty much locked in at this point. I’d like to see the team giving more rest to some of the older players and those who have dealt with injuries all year. Doesn’t have to be all at the same time but:
I’d like to see Gio and Brodie take a few games – I mean we have 10 fucking dmen.
Matthews and Rielly could take a game or two. No major milestones they’re chasing.
Marner could use a game, he’s played a lot this year.
When ROR gets back, give Tavares a few games off.
Samsonov should play 2-3 more games just to tune up. I think he’s the playoff starter at this point. If he sucks early on, we can pivot to Murray.
Jarnkrok spearing/poking the Nashville player fallen on the puck, to push the player/puck combo back into neutral ice was ……great
