  1. "They're both the future and the present…." MLSE Presents: Your Toronto Maple Leafs, Goalies of Future Past (X-Men Spinoff): About a time-travelling Leafs goalie who won the cup with the Leafs in the future with different team mates then travels back to the past where he puts on a disguise and becomes the goalie coach for his younger self all while gently nudging the coaching staff around him to acquire the pieces his future cup-winning team had.

  2. Woll will get a chance to play in the playoffs, because with so many games in a short time, even with Samsonov playing his share, Murray will almost certainly get injured.

  3. An interesting comparison, since I once heard Steve mention Muay Thai, is that traditional Muay Thai fighters purposefully start slow, and finish strong. I notice non-Thai fighters, when fighting a Thai champion, usually throw everything they have at the champ early because they know he’s going to be going easy . But it usually doesn’t work because once the Thai fighter last through the first round, the foreign guy runs out of gas, and ideas, and gets beat.
Perhaps the leafs play games the same way, getting outshot in the first period, and eventually outshooting opponents by the next bad of game.

  4. Woll is the perfect example of being patient with a prospect and allowing him to blossom into an NHL caliber goalie.

And as for kerfoot, he consistently plays solid hockey. His speed is great even though his shooting isn’t great.

  5. For the month of March, (W-L):
-Leafs have played 13 games, 7-6 record
    -Lightning played 14, 5-9 record
    -Hurricanes played 14, 8-6 record

    Bruins? 13 games, 10-3 record.

  6. Woll and Samsonov next year 1a/1b dynamic, buy out murray and use Petruzzelli or Kallgren as 3rd stringer.

  7. ok i get it the future looks bright in net BUT the future is NOW for this team , murray has proven he can win in the playoffs and has 2 cup rings this is the future the future is NOW should dubas's job be tried to how well murray performs ?

  8. Funny how every other team that is in the playoffs has set lines! Sheldon however has No Idea what that is or what he is doing. 0 chemistry is obvious because no one plays long enough to make any!!! GREAAAAAAT! THATS HOW YA WANT TO START THE PLAYOFFS!

  9. Very true about the Winnipeg Jets fans, can’t stop complaining or thinking about the leafs.

  10. Now we know why Dubas didn't or wasn't allowed to trade the 1st round pick they got in the Sandin trade…It'll be used to move Murray before the draft (see Mrazek). Another 1st rounder will be wasted to move a goalie they never should have acquired.

  11. How does Anthony Stewart have a job as an analyst? He is picking Nashville to make the playoffs.Really!Has he not looked at this team and all the injuries they have and their remaining schedule. He is out to lunch.

  12. The only problem with Woll is his injury history. I’d keep them all next year if possible but waive Murray if no injuries come up. Keep the goalie depth beyond AHL backups for 1 more year, then make the slightly more risky but also more educated decision on the crease

  13. The Leafs do seem to take about 10 minutes of the first period to wake up. But what really happens is that the Leafs have a problem adjusting to the full press of the opposing team at first. Then they figure it out and take over.
