I guess you don’t watch much hockey. Stamkos spit on laffy last year in the playoffs with 2 refs right next to them and nothing was done about it. Do your research
Where does he make "complete eye contact?" To me it looks like Miller is looking over Doughty's right shoulder at whichever player is in that direction. Spitting is a cowardly thing to do, but I don't care much for shit talking Doughty. Just my opinion bashers.
So Miller spits accidently (carelessly, but still accidental by both players' admission) and gets 3 games…but Tom Wilson last year violently and deliberately damaged Panarin's neck and only received a fine. Yes. Very consistent.
And if this was the other way around, the screams of racism would reach the heavens and the calls for Doughty to attend sensitivity training would flood the phone lines. Tell me I'm wrong.
He wasn't making eye contact. He was moving away, turning his head to the left and his eyes are already somewhere else. If I spit in your face you are gonna wanna fight, me or nobody is gonna do that then look away so we can be sucker punched. If he did want to spit at him, if he had gotten under his skin then why is it such a passive-aggressive move, and not clearly one meant out of anger and ready to fight? We get to watch these in super slow motion and critique every little move. If he was actively spitting in his fave, square all, with follow through and has moving toward DD I'd be in agreement but I think it's clear he was just an idiot, winded, spitting and not paying attention. For all you know he was a little out of it due to a hit or fall or any number of reasons. I've seem people spit in the face of someone intentionally and this DID NOT look anything like that.
Says a lot about his character that he couldn't even own up to doing it on purpose – very immature. It's okay to say it was on purpose, and that you were wrong to do it and accept the consequences. Acceptance and growth goes a long way when you f up, denial and deflection doesn't.
There was no way that was accidental with that many other players around him. His apology was simply to try and save face because he couldnt deny it. 3 games was appropriate and a valuable lesson for Miller.

There’s absolutely no reason to think this was intentional
Nah ,it's just a habit. Think it was an accident
Marchand licking the guy was before Covid, so I don't see how the 2 can be compared really. Different world now
But if it was done to him Al Sharpton and BLM would be rioting.
This was definitely intentional, doughty gets under everyone’s skin and Miller couldn’t control his emotions. 3 games is light

He did it and hind sight wished he didn't; but he did.

accident B.S why didnt he say sorry rite there when it happened

What a POS. Disgusting human being
Accident you can tell he's actually not looking at doughty he's looking to the left of him
Let's play a little role reversal. Doughty would've been cancelled by now.

Hockey gloves to the face is worse than spitting
Imagine it was the other way around … the whole world would kmow.
Stamkos spit on Lafreniere after a fight in the eastern conference finals. Totally intentional. Talk about that
I'd rather be spat on than licked.
Nasty mofo, should had got 20 games
Bad take, I’m pretty sure it was accidental. Despite this he deserved his suspension, he should be more aware of where he is spitting
