Jim Montgomery Bruins “Laid an egg” against Predators | Bruins Postgame Interview

BOSTON — The Boston Bruins lost 2-1 to the Nashville Predators. The B’s went oh-for 5 on the power play. Head coach Jim Montgomery hinted that it might be enough to raise questions as to whether to change things up.

“We’ve changed it up quite a bit here over the past month,” Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery said postgame. “Change isn’t always the answer, although it seems like the easiest answer. It’s players committing to doing the right thing.

“We didn’t have our ‘A’ game tonight. It wasn’t only the power play that stunk (Tuesday). There’s a lot of facets of our game that weren’t at the level and the standard that we expect. For whatever reason, we laid an egg tonight.”

  1. They need to shoot more, and do it much faster. More one timers. They take too long to make decisions in the offensive zone. Almost like the team lost their confidence. They need their mojo back. I was kind of hoping they were holding out till the playoffs and doing it on purpose. After watching tonights game, yah thats not the case.

  2. Get real – it was a tough game against a team fighting for their playoff lives. They just won 7 straight. They gave up one goal (not counting the empty netter).. They fought until they scored in the last seconds. You gotta be a pretty spoiled fan to be too upset about this loss. The Bruins will be fine.

  3. Not surprising that they kind of laid an egg. After the back to back against teams you’re probably going to see in the playoffs I’m not surprised they were somewhat sleepy. Also got goalied. Moving on.

  4. I blame Monty too for not having this team ready to grab home ice. Smh, pathetic by the players to put a game on like that, wasted 3 hrs of my time w my 75 yo mother who loves the Bruins and we were disgusted by the lack og urgency and drive and guts. 0 for 5 PP, cant finish arpund net , no grit, no willingness to engage. 😢 what a disappoimtment and a let down. Embarrassement as the so called best team in NHL puts an effort out like that!? Entire team needs to look in the mirror and ask yourselves if you really have what it takes!? Do you want it!! Do you have the guts to get it done, to work through fatigue and pain to reach goals. Not tonight you didnt. Smh. Not sure which team shows up now.

  5. Who are these people in the comments? Sky is falling after one tight loss? They literally just had a 7 game win streak. Trying to manage players and hard to not look ahead to the playoffs A bit. They haven't had meaningful games for awhile but still getting it done. Some of you so-called fans need to look in the Mirror. The B's are going to be great in the playoffs.

  6. Why dont they try putting a body in front of goaltender to set a screen on the pp. They always have jdb off to the side.

  7. That’s why Tampa was as aggressive and fouled the crap out of Boston. Playoff hockey on steroids. The blueprint is since Boston can’t score on the PP, then cross check the heck out of them and maul them to slow their offensive 5 on 5 down to minimize how many points they put up on the board. You’ll be seeing other teams do this moving forward.

  8. yall really need to stop letting pastrnak carry the puck over the blue line, especially on the PP.

  9. I don't think it was a bad game at all , we won 7 or 8 games in a row your not going to win ever game , give there goalie credit he play really good , Go Bruins GO
