  1. Greg is one of the worst writers and has shown bias against the wings for years. I'll never read his stuff….. In saying that, I wouldn't hate having bedard

  2. He would be a great fit, but it's still highly unlikely they would be able to move up in the draft lottery… It's possible Yzerman could trade up a couple slots using one of his extra picks, but we would be hard pressed to find a generational player even with a deep draft.

  3. Would I like to see Bedard in the winged wheel? Absolutely. He would pretty much bring an end to the rebuild. Will the Wings get him? I very much doubt it. The draft lotto hates them. Bedard will probably end up in golden handcuffs in Arizona. There is always hope that the Wings win that #1 overall but don’t count on it

  4. I appreciate the optimism Lego, but don't give the normies higher hopes of Detroit winning the lottery lol. I will agree that having Bedard where he doesn't need to be a captain and just excel at his craft would be optimal. He'll Lafreniere should've been ours in that same respects

  5. Bedard could repair Yzerman's reputation inherited from Tampa Bay Lightning days. The Red Wings remain inept so far after Yzerman landed in Detroit as GM in April 2019.

  6. who knows it’s prolly rigged and detroit is one of the most famous NHL teams an original 6 maybe the NHL wants the next face of the NHL to be him

  7. As a wings fan I would love for some draft luck but as in recent years state the draft gods hate the wings but at the same time could this be the year that the wings screw other teams out of the first pick only time will tell but I’m not going to bet the farm on it we will get a decent prospect to keep the process going but that’s about it

  8. Ducks will win the Lottery. And they got good young talent. Mitchov dont
show up at the draft. Then he's a bigger risk than you know. Hawks get Fantilli. Of Course Detroit is the best team that could contend. Wait weres Buffalo?

  9. Actually the best fit for him would be the Oilers because playing with another player in the exact same situation he's in would be best. That being said the Ducks would be the best fit because he could live in L.A. and be completely anonymous. Worst place would be Montreal because he'd be harassed 24/7 by fans and media

  10. yeah I bet he can't wait to play for this garbage team lol

plus yzerman wouldn't draft he's not some mediocre european lol

  11. As a Red Wings fan, I can honestly say that chances of us getting Bedard are slim if not nonexistent, however, I'll entertain that fantasy until the draft is over because just talking about Bedard in Detroit puts a little pep in the Ole step.

  12. I personally think Vancouver is a close second too Detroit lol! It would be a better fit if we had more defence than Hughes

  13. 100%

I was just saying to a friend that I feel the NHL owes Detroit a #1 pick. It's not all about never getting in the top 3. The Wings were bumped back 2 to 3 spots in nearly every draft during their rebuild. The short-term disaster lottery system screwed one team far more than any others. So much so that the NHL changed the rules because of it. So yeah, I think we're due. If the Wings can't get some luck, they're screwed. A whole generation lost imo. The Wings, as it stands now, look to be perpetually a step behind the Sens/Habs and 3 steps behind the Sabres/Devils. These teams all rebuilt at the same time. The disparity in talent shows what a shitshow the lottery system had become. The Devils and Wings specifically had nearly identical trajectories in where they finished in the standings during their rebuilds, but they got glorious luck. My point is.. Detroit is owed one. The piece we are missing is the piece you usually get at the top of the draft, an elite 1C. He would be our miracle gro.

  14. Gary Betman has had it out for us for a very very long time. I would love to have CB, but im not counting on it.

  15. Mock trade for your entertainment:

To NYR: 2023 1st rd (NYI)
    Albert Johansson

    To DET: Alexis Lafreniere

    My tankathon results for NYR:

    19th overall: Dmitri Simashev (NYI)
    23rd overall: Samuel Honzek (DAL)

  16. Bedard in Detroit is a nice thought, but it's not going to happen. We never win the lottery. Stop getting our hopes yet.

  17. Detroit? Lmfao no way! Ottawa by far would be the absolute BEST fit for Bedard. Playing with Tkachuk and Stutzle or Norris and DeBrincat and having Chychrun, Sanderson, Chychrun, and Branstrom feeding him the puck would just be golden. Bedard + Ottawa is a match made in hockey heaven 🙌

  18. why'd he put jack hughes in same category as mcdavid, dreiseitl, matthews and McKinnon. Pettersson would fit better into that

  19. If any team deserves to get lucky in the draft, it's Detroit. They've never moved up in the draft once. Adam Fantilli would be a nice constellation prize.

  20. Id give up seider, cossa, and our first pick if we dont win the lottery. Idk if that would be enough or too much

  21. Detroit won’t get him obviously, but it would be super helpful to rebuild. We need some star power for sure to build around. Larkin and Seider aren’t enough by themselves. You always want to see these potential generational talents rep the jersey of the classic teams, not a boring team like CBJ or Arizona. I’d much prefer if he went to Montreal tbh, but you can bet on Betman wasting him on a failing franchise to try and bolster their sales.

  22. Honestly its also the best fit BECAUSE of Detroits draft luck. I'd say if he ends up being even close to what he is hyped up to be he would make up for all those years of atrocious draft luck. Realistically though those kinds of storybook endings don't happen so I'm on the side of believing we aren't gonna get number 1 and we're just gonna have to play smart with our picks like we always have.
