In 2009, the Rangers used their 19th pick in the draft to select this goofy-looking kid. 14 years later, Chris Kreider is now a top 5 all-time goal scorer in team history.

I remember watching him at BU home games and absolutely hating him. Glad he’s our guy now.

It’s wild to remember when his college season ended and he joins the team for the 2012 playoff run. Time goes quickly.

Not sure how Kreider’s supposed to be goofy-looking lol

He will be number 3, possibly number 2, when he’s all done

If he can manage to score at least thirty over the next five years, he’ll pass Mr. Ranger.

I always thought Kreids was super handsome! So happy for him and glad he’s been a Ranger for so long

Schneider was also 19th, Chytil 21st, Miller 22nd. Seems like the sweet spot for where we draft well lol. Come on Dallas keep trending towards that 21st pick

Absolute stud! And a great role model both on and off the ice

Now Kreider looks like the burrito from that Seth Rogan food porn movie

I was at his first game in the playoffs!

The first time I saw Chris Kreider play it was the development camp right after the 2009 draft. He looked completely lost. Randomly skating around the offensive zone with one hand on his stick looking like he was penalty killing. He looked like a high schooler that was basically dropped into a pro game, which to be fair, he was.

    Glad he figured it out.

I still remember Kevin at NYR Blog hyping this guy constantly once he was drafted.

Turns out the old man was right.

Chris Kreider instantly became one of my favorite rangers. His combination of size and speed made him so fun to watch. He has the ability to absolutely take over games at any given time and it’s awesome to see when he does.

Goofy looking?? Ouch. I think hes a stud

One of my biggest regrets is not grabbing a Kreider jersey when still working at the old NHL Store. Dude has been a legit beast for the Rangers & if they end up bringing home the Stanley Cup during his tenure I’m sure most likely he will get his number retired

And 20 will be in the rafters one day
