Among all of the lineup decisions to be made for the Tampa series, the one I think will be the most impactful is the inclusion of Schenn. I am already dreaming of an early game 1 hip check on Kucherov that sends a message that this Leafs team isn’t as soft as it was last time around.
Absolutely love it. You need defensemen like that to go anywhere in the playoffs.

I just woke up, watched this battle and got exhausted.
If that was a non leaf its good old physical hockey.
Exactly what we traded for. Brady Tkachuk might be one of the hardest players in the world to deal with in front of the net too. Schenns gonna be clutch in the playoffs.
Now that’s the exact kind of grind we need for playoff hockey.
He basically cemented his role in the top 6 with last night’s performance. We need that level of playoff intensity and forechecking and backchecking that he gives out. No other D man does that. Maybe Gio to a certain extent but nowhere near what Schenn brings.

Underrated pick up. This is what this team has been missing. The toughness in front of the net. I love to see it. Refreshing
This was completely clean IMO – the closest thing to a penalty isn’t even the cross-checks it’s when Brady goes around the net and Schenn follows him.
Schenn gets one arm inside Tkachuk’s shoulder, and that could have quickly become a hold but he let go and chest bumped him instead.
The cross-checks are all fair game for NHL defending – up high on the shoulders/back and not too hard, just refusing to give up position.
Missed in this clip was Brady running over Rielly, you can see Rielly coming back from that at the beginning, so Schenn just decided to make Brady’s life hell.
Schenn battling it out like its the playoffs and I fucking love it.
Simple. But effective.
