Casey is about an 80th percentile forward this season according to evolving wild’s GAR model. That places him above players like: Tavares, Taylor Hall, Kyle Connor, Malkin, Barzal, and Laine.
Mits being one point away from the 6th player to hit 50 points is quite something. Then Olofsson and Quinn both have good chances to hit 40 points, with Peterka having a slight shot at it as well. The newfound offensive depth the team has/will have is a great thing. Then you add Levi into the mix… if I didn’t have that general Buffalo sports fan pessimism, I’d say the Sabres will be a constant playoff team the rest of the decade
Some interesting decisions to make going forward in the offseason. We have a lot of skill capable of being first liners but only 3 spots for said line. Mitts is not much for scoring and I don’t think he ever will be but he does do well at finding other skilled players when he plays with true goal scorers like Tuch and Skinner.

Comrie should be waived and given a chance to go somewhere else. He’ll never be “the guy” here.
So now that it’s proven Mitts is a good player, as of this writing, the narrative will swing from outright cutting him to packaging him in a trade for a “better” player. The truthers will never admit to being wrong and will have to be more subtle with their hate.
The wheel is still turning on Comrie and Olofsson, so at least they have that.
