GG’s shit-eating grin after those late game shenanigans might be one of my favorite images from this year.

    Also fuck Ovi and Wilson.

  2. First coach in rangers history with back to back 100 point seasons. Totally unacceptable. Fire him now!

  3. Error404-

TNT Broadcast be like “The caps lost. But here’s how they can clinch a playoff spot” and only give one comment on the Rangers

  4. StyllAhlie

Tom Wilson and Ovie can suck a fat one and enjoy their April golf!!

  5. kicksavewhatabeaut

Love it. Kids played great. Kept ovechkin scoreless. Nobody got hurt. Let’s ride this to a cup

  6. Panarin and Kane on the PP:

“No babe you take the last bite”

    “No babe you take it”

“No babe please take it, it would make me happy that you had it”

“Oh babe your so sweet but no, you have it 🥰🥰😍😘❤️”

  7. elevenibba

Laf always looks like he’s having fun out there. I can’t wait for him to make more plays like we saw tonight

  8. ProblyLosingSomehow

Shesty deserved a shutout. Great performance from him, glad to see him staying hot. And the kid line, that was absolute domination from them all game. Harpur blows. Hope you guys have a good Sunday evening!

  9. GrilledCharlie12

Love seeing Laf smiling fucking around after the game

  10. DarkKnightFalling

this is why I hate the caps. games are always very physical. Glad we got the win!

  11. dcgirl98

Yet another solid effort from Kids and Shesty. We woke up and came to play in the 1st! Glad something clicked there. They kept it up and actually played a full 60. Nice to see goals from Miller, Tarasenko, and Mika. April looks like it’ll be a fun month! On to the next one! See you Wednesday at the Garden. LGR!

  12. feedmekombucha

Mika career high. I’m not crying. You’re crying.

  13. darkgrayallalone

That was a complete 60 minute effort and it led to a commanding win. Hopefully we see more of this.

  14. trumpetarebest

I need to rewatch that Laffy goal. For scientific reasons of course

  15. MarsHotelSouth

Decisive win, great showing by the kids especially. Fuck Ovi for chasing Goodrow around like a bitch, and fuck Wilson who sucks in general. LFG 100+ points!!!!!

  16. music_chris

QUICK WHAT ARE WE COMPLAINING ABOUT AFTER THIS LOVELY 5-2 WIN?!

  17. I_Need_Scissors___61

Jesus Christ does Wayne Gretzky not get sick days? God damn he sounds half dead.

  18. kleefoth

The ref in between Goodrow and Wilson was holding on for his dear life

  19. deeply_sighing

Sure Kakko is on the scoresheet more often lately but what stands out to me is his confidence. Getting involved physically, pushing guys away with an obvious look of disgust, being calm with the puck. Love it.

  20. Grouchy-Power-806

Nice solid game. All three periods well played. Mika March into April. Igor is a boss. Goodrow isn’t taking Wilson’s shit. Kid line all grown up. Tarasenko should’ve been here as a rookie. Wilson is a twunt. Ovie is sundowning.

Let’s hope the jets can beat the devils.

  21. NSNSprite

The TNT guy can’t even correctly pronounce Laf’s name good grief.

  22. cha-cha_dancer

Needed that one, looked good right from the jump

  23. Really nice bounce back game. Laf busted his nut all over Sandin and Kuemper.

  24. GroundedFluke

I love that the Boyz II Men line faced the Caps top line and did really well. Absolutely love it.

    Some thoughts:

    – Really solid game from Shesterkin. He deserved a shutout in this one. You can tell he was really frustrated with himself on the Strome goal, and he seemed incensed that Washington had as many stabs at the puck as they did on the second goal against. Regardless, he made several A+ stops in the midst of a few Washington pushes. Great game by him and a good sign to have him going at this level in April.

    – Chytil, Kakko, Lafreniere looking great again. Again, great timing to have them firing on all cylinders. Probably the best 3rd line in the league right now.

    – Power play looks really good. Both units seem lethal right now.

    – Wilson was sure willing to go with Goodrow, but he was quite reserved and invisible when Reaves was in the lineup. Always cracks me up how shy he is around guys who can give him a real challenge.

    – Love Mikkola stepping in and fighting near the end of the game. He is a big buy and you want to see him using.

  27. Zer0flames

They’re all secondary, but Panarin had 3 assists. I was about to talk shit about him being quiet too

  28. redpotatochip6

The kid line will forever be the kid line. They’ll be playing in their 12th consecutive Stanley cup finals and they’ll still be the kid line.

  29. the_mair

Took care of business exactly like they should have and no injuries

  30. glacier_bay

The kid line has been terrific lately. If the Rangers get that kind of performance and effort from the kid line in the playoffs, the Rangers are going to be a very, very difficult team to match up against.

  31. BitterTest8053

kane has been a great pick up, i hope he stays for another season

  32. MarsHotelSouth

31-0-0 when we score 4 or more goals is awesome too. Just do that every game and we’ll be fine!

  33. I just wanna shoutout Mika, again. This man has been a godsend since the moment he put on a Rangers sweater. I dont know where this team would be if that trade never happened and i shutter to think about it. We could have been in an absolute dark era for the Rangers if not for Mika’s true #1 center role.

  34. feedmekombucha

Can we please GFM Vladdy’s extension?

  35. BeesVBeads

Always fun closing a good Rangers W and flipping over to see an easy Yankees dub. Looks like the Mets/Rangers faction will be enjoying that as well.

  36. Maleficent-Comfort-2

But r/hockey told me that the Rangers a fraud and that the Caps would win with a Ovechkin hat trick..

  37. will122589

They needed that. A good reset game against a team waiting for the season to end and the game was never in doubt once Laffy undressed the goalie and defensemen on that FILTHY goal.

100 pts for the team in back to back seasons feels so good

  38. Key-Tip-7521

I didn’t watch the game from start to finish, but I did see the last 40 minutes so here are my thoughts.

    1. The Yute/Kid Line look like their cooking. Laf’s goal ohhhhhhh baby! Kakko got one. “Wow it’s a nice goal.” Chytil on a point streak right now. I said if this line get hot, oh man watch out come playoff time
    2. Mika setting career highs. and scoring (whispers, it’s power play goal).
    3. Bread dishing out apples
    4. Vova w/a nasty wrister.
    5. Igor was Igor today
    6. Goodrow fighting Wilson and Mikkola fighting too.

Loved it. Turk smiling at the end was nice thing to see. Nice response after that stinker of a game vs the Sabres. Rangers win! 2 points in the bag. 100 pts on the season. Keep up the good work. Gotta keep it rolling. No Cap No Kizzy! Two days off, and onto the Bolts on Wednesday. God Save the King. Back afta dis.

Kakko scored so: [https://youtube.com/shorts/4Hlk3NxC-Qs?feature=share](https://youtube.com/shorts/4Hlk3NxC-Qs?feature=share) or [https://youtube.com/shorts/bhSIlwq3AK0?feature=share](https://youtube.com/shorts/bhSIlwq3AK0?feature=share)

  39. Mac-the-ice

I second the praise of Mika. He not only scores but is always back on plays, always. With his point total, penalty killing and true 200 foot play, it is a crime if he is not a Selke finalist. The guy in Boston is great, but let’s go NHLand, Mika Z is giving us a very special year.

Regarding todays game… Wow if GGs grandkids keep playing with this tempo, who really is the number one line? Patrick Kane looks like he is coming out of the trade funk, good progress. Tara needs to be retained next year, maybe at the expense of CK? The third pair showed a lot today, I think they can be depended on in the playoffs. Vinnie T is a delight to have on our side, a playoff player for sure.

I am not one to overpraise this team, but there were two distinct times in this game where I said to myself, this is something I saw during the Red Army dominance of hockey. It was as if the Group of Five instinctively knew where the puck was going next. Plus we’ve got a worthy successor to Trocek as the greatest Russian goalie ever.

Finally… For you younger guys who never saw it. Gerard Gallant was downright scary on the ice back in the 80s. He was a tornado every time he was vs Rangers. So it was no surprise that he had a big grin on his face as our boys stood up to the typical shit that Washington does when they are down in the third. He looks at Goodrow and see’s himself.

    Lets get Artimi 100 points!
Lets give rotating D players a night off for the next 5
    Lets Go Rangers!

  40. FoghornLeghorn99

The win is great, but when we had chances for statement wins and failed, that’s what they need retribution on.

It’s also really amazing how after Thursday that game didn’t matter for a multitude of reasons, but there’s stock being taken out of this game that quite literally meant nothing.

I’ll take stock from both games which is the following:

I’m glad they did what they were supposed to today.

I’m not glad that they had two chances to win statement games to get home ice and they got beat both times.

  41. Envelopen

As we get closer to playoffs im looking for all the holes and i see two major ones. Lack of any neutral zone presence and following the puck. Defense ultimately neglects to forecheck the neutral zone passing and carry ins. Easily negates a lot of what the devils try to do for offense if we were able to retain turnovers in the neutral zone. Defense has to try to eliminate the plays before they cross the blue line instead of folding back to our zone uncontested. Overall a good performance tonight, but theres room for improvement
