x-[NEXT DAY] Game Thread 77/82: Devils at Jets 2023.04.02.

<runs into room> Sorry I’m late!!

I’m here now with a nuclear hot take: *Last night’s game was not enjoyable.*

Except for the part where 90-point Nico stole the shutout…Okay, that was funny.

What’s on your mind?

Wait, there was a game last night? Not a clue. It didn’t happen. On to Tuesday! And thanks Nico. Not gonna tell you what I’m thanking you for just yet, but, thank you.

Nothing at all happened last night. We were all just dreaming.

Watched the Jets feed and there was a stat that this Devils team is the 4th highest year to year jump in points in league history. With a few more wins it could be the biggest of all time.

And yet fans in the GDT and PGT expect this team to systematically dominate every shift like the Gretzky-era Oilers, who I’m pretty sure never to managed to go 82-0.

This is a young team playing extremely well that has never played this much meaningful hockey in a year and has to learn how to handle to ups and downs of a season. Boston had a slump, Jersey had slumps.

Back to that stat, the biggest year to year jump was Colorado a few years ago. If this team ends up like that I think we’ll be okay.
