I just want McDavid to win the cup with the Oilers. There would be nothing more iconic in the entire world of professional sports.
Oilers are ready for anything. Steady Stu is gonna be mayor of stud city and take us to the finals
As an oilers fan I ain't worried about nobody
Oilers are literally the best offence team in the league. TWELVE players with 10+ goals
As an oilers fan…I would rather play Colorado first round than LA if it came down to those 2. I'd much rather Seattle or Vegas though
The Oilers just beat the Knights and the Kings by a combined score of 9-4. I think those teams are nothing to sneeze at, but I see these dudes underestimating the Oilers. I hope the Knights and the Kings players do the same. But I think the players know better. These guys are acting like what they say is somehow important to the outcome. Itās not.
3:32 we are actually only 2 points
As an oilers fan Iād rather play Vegas but Iām pretty sure most teams donāt want the oilers first round.
Edmo ton has 4 players in the top 25 points leaders this year LA has 0. As of right now Oilers are 1 point behind the Kings so we will see come Tuesday
Although I like the Oilers because they have those two nuclear weapons, LA does scare me because of their depth (Kopitar, Kempe, Arvidsson, Fiala, Danault, Iafallo, Doughty, Anderson, Gavrikov, Durzi).
The X factor might be goaltending. Korpisalo has been unreal (can you believe how cheap he was to acquire?), but Skinner has also played well.
Also, LA has some pretty good 200 foot players (Kopitar, Danault, Moore) that will make it tough on McDavid and Draisaitl.
It'll be a an interesting series that will probably go 7.
I'll easily take Edmonton over Vegas. Vegas is average both on offense and defense. Their offense will go through stretches where they're ice cold. But also, if Quick is the starter because Thompson is hurt, say goodbye to any chance in the playoffs.
The issue is, in the playoffs, you can't run and gun, which Edmonton is notorious for. LA is also a solid defensive team. They're content winning 1-0, 2-1. They also have very good 200 foot players in Danault and Kopitar. So it might come down to the depth on offense and defense, and the goaltending (Korpisalo made like 60-70 saves in a playoff game during the bubble a few years ago).
This conversation died after there last regular season game. LA looks like a peewee team.
I like the addition of Ekholm, but Bouchard scares me on defense because of the turnovers and lack of foot speed. LA's defense is mobile, big, and blocks a lot of shots (Edler, Doughty, Roy, even Durzi are crazy blockers).
I was more worried about the kings till the last game. Now Iām ready for any team. Bring āāem on!!
Oilers are bigger and badder this year plus hopefully a healthy 29 and 25 this time around. LA is formidable but won't be a favorite
Drai has Korpisalo figured out. Easy bet
Oilers fan: Not worried about either
"Just stop McDavid and Draisaitl" 1st: Nobody stops McDavid, 2nd: Draisaitl was bullying everybody in the playoffs last year, on one leg lol. Minnesota, Colorado or Edmonton in the finals this year. I'm not even a fan of any of these teams.
Whit's out to lunch here. La took a very talented oilers team to 7 games last year.
I really hope the Kings go into it with that same attitude. Based on their performance all year… not their performance since the return of Kane and the addition of Ekholm and Bjugstad. Kane is yet another game breaker type player. He can pop off and get a hat trick at any given time. Ekholm taking the load off Nurse whilst helping Bouchard and doing his own job at an elite level changed the whole look of the D in a good way.
Biz come on let's look at it seriously Oilers vs LA first round will be great series. But Oilers have just as much depth as the Kings. And even it goes to Oilers vs Knights it will still be just as good. I'm not worried about the Oilers in the playoffs and to be clear the Oilers could still finish in first or second.
Biz is bias. always has been. Reason? because he only roots for teams that actually gave him a shot. just plain and simple. Get your head out of your A** BIz. Coin flip? between Kings and Oilers? Get da F*** out here Biz. lmao.
Oilers advance in 5
Oilers fan here. I don't care who we play in the first round. I'm more concerned about who we play in the SCF.
As an Oiler fan, no, I'm not at all scared of facing the Kings in the first round, whatsoever.
I'm thinking this was made before the most recent game between the Oilers and Kings because if not, Biz is in full donkey mode. Remember, he was CERTAIN the Coyotes would shut the Oiler stars down last week and we know what happened there, right?
Has Biz been right about anything regarding the Oilers this season? No, I don't think he has.
Has Biz actually been watching the Oilers games, at all, this season? It doesn't seem so and if he has, he's not paying attention or he hasn't been watching the same games I am.
Whit is all over the truth, here. Either way, we'll get another good indicator on how they'll match up this Tuesday, when they finish the season series.
It may turn out that the Knights and the Kings play each other in the first round. Just saying, the season isn't over and the division is as tight as it gets.
Its going to be another bad year for Whitney and he is so dumb that can't even realize it yet.
Series 2-1 kings. Kings 9 goals Edmonton 6. Cheap shot mcDavid should of been kick out for injuring a player with a board to the back with force. None of you clowns say anything about his cheap chits taken on kings. Kick out last year for same thing but it wasnāt 30 seconds in the game sitting on 299 goal milestone. So they win1-0 with four kings injured. Wow you are so good! Have fun in the snow lame ass oilers fans! Your goalie stood in his head, he wonāt do that again.
We all talk about who is better than who. Why don't we all just gather around and hope we get some amazing hockey games from both teams. As a Kings fan I'm going to say oilers suck, and an oilers fan they're going to say the opposite. Let's just hope both teams don't do a sweep on each other because playoffs will just suck then. Let's just hope for another 7 games and may the true best team move on. If it's the Oilers then I wish you guys the best and if it's my Kings then I wish for another exciting 7 games to make my playoffs exciting.
The Kings took the Oilers to 7 games last season without Doughty or Arvidsson. They've also added Fiala, Gavrikov, and Korpisalo. The Oilers got better as well but the Kings are a different beast from last year
how ironic how campbell just shut out LA, our backup for the playoffs.
This debate was squashed when the Oilers shut out the Kings. Oilers are the better team and will win the division
Id like to see the oilers just walk right over LA in 4 and move straight on to Colorado, have a tough 6 games and then move on to Boston for a full 7 game series. All i want to see is the best of the best play eachother in the playoffs. I Didnt even think about LA when i was dreaming of matchups.
Biz just being a troll
I mean we can talk about numbers and everything all we want… But the fact of the matter is when it comes to playoffs, the oilers are going to bully teams. Look at the last game against L.A. Kings sat back and played the trap and the oilers dummied the dmen over and over and over again. 6'4 Ekholm, 6'4 Nurse, 6'2 Ceci, 6'3 bouchard, 6'2 Kulak and 6'7 Desharnais. And thats just on the back end. I don't think the oilers will be afraid of anyone. And to sit here and act like Korpisalo is some sort of an allstar?! The guy's been horrendous the last 3 years. He's definitely not any better than Skinner. Oh and if we're going to talk about depth scoring. The oilers have the most depth scoring in the NHL (12 with 10, 4 with 30)
Kings don't stack up like the Oilers. You got nuge and Hyman who are having career years they get no love bc mcdavid and drai are so good and overshadow that.. And then once Kane gets going look out. The Kings are doomed against the Oilers. I don't think any team wants to play the Oilers.
Edmonton has 11 10+ goal scores
All someone has to do is take out one of mcdavids knees and theyāre a lottery team next year
Oilers are the hottest team going in the NHL right now
Oilers will crush the Kings, sorry š¤·š¼āāļø
Iām not worried at vegas because there a team of injured players. I think the kings are the hardest matchup.
as a oilers fan im not scared of any teams till boston in the finals
Keep in mind the Kings took them to 7 without Drew last season. This year him being in the playoffs would be good enough to give them the edge in 7.
Whit saying āyou donāt have a top 50 player in the leagueā Is a joke, fiala can do his time for sure
LA is gonna get crushed by the oilers sorry LA fans!
Season isn't over yet biz š
Can't wait for the Oilers to fold again. Sincerely, America
The oilers as of today have vegas odds of 13% to win the cup!!! Thats more than Boston!!!! Certainly more than the 8% the Kings have… and the 3.7% that the Golden knights have… I mean these are developed off Statistics and the Stats are just better for the oilers
Oilers fans are absolutely crying in these comments just because somebody said theyāre not invincible š
Can't wait for a team other than the avalanche to knock out the kings
Whit writing off Minnesota shows how little he knows about the matchup. The Wild absolutely own the Oilers the last decade of hockey. They've played each other 45 times since 2010 and the Oilers have won a grand total of 12 times. It's fun to watch Whit realize the Oilers are in trouble yet again, he starts spitting nonsense.
