  1. as a hab fan i dont really buy him wanting to play here, i think he just wants out of wpg and the easiest way is using the habs as leverage

  2. You guys would be lucky if Montreal even trades something away for him. Because we all know he can walk in next years offseason. Montreal has the leverage right now. For all we know Dvorak and a 2nd is the offer. For the Jets its either you get something or its nothing at all. I think right now its boom or bust next season for the Jets. They have his rights for 1 more season. They might have to pull the trigger and go all in.

  3. Montreal has a little more leverage than people think, another option but unlikely to happen is that Montreal could offer sheet Dubois say 6.4M.

This would leave Winnipeg with two options, let him walk and receive a 1st and 3rd in 2024 or match the offer and make him untradable for a full calendar year.

  4. Sucks for the jets cause I honestly thought in the last decade that they were the best Canadian team. Then Buff happened, and a bunch of questionable moves by cheveldayof to get to where we are today. But all that being said, I really don’t think Winnipeg are in a good position to get a good return on that trade. The whole league knows Dubois wants to play for Montréal so no other team is really going to be interested knowing he’s gonna sign in mtl in 2024. So I think that if he’s traded this off-season it’s going to happen at the draft, and it’s going to be something similar to what mtl did for Kirby dach. So FLA’s first round pick + a def prospect (engstrom,Harris,Mailloux, struble)

  5. No rush for Montreal to trade for him, we are in a rebuild mold for at least another two years, we have our own upcoming Stars to sign into long-term , why the hell would you commit yourself long term year contract pld no need to , Montreal can dictate to what you they want to trade for him , it's like playing poker when you know what your opponent cards are and you're holding the best hand, they have no leverage Winnipeg does, they'll be lucky to get a second round pick for him.

  6. I hope he does not come to Montreal. He is over rated and will be over paid if he comes to Montreal. He has never scored 30 goals in a season. Not the type of player you want on a rebuilding team like Montreal. Montreal needs a defense and a great goaltender. We have plenty of forwards that can score goals.

  7. Does anyone really know Montreal's interest level in PLD? Why does everyone assume that level of interest is equally mutual? As Habs fan I'm not so sure. They have so many quality prospects that they will have to open positions for in the near future plus the high picks this year and that's not including the salary issue. How much will it cost to sign him? If they trade for him I hope it's because it's a deal they just couldn't pass up.

  8. I just hope Montréal won't overpay to trade for Dubois, it would be a mistake. I like him, but he's somewhat overrated by many people. He's a 50-60 points 2nd center. There is no rush, in a perfect would we should try to sign as a UFA in July 2024. Otherwise, we should focus on the rebuild process and keep our best assets.

  9. As a Habs fan, it's really interesting to get an inside look at the guy and what Jets fans think of him. Cuz from the outside, what I see is an extremely talented player that shows up 1 out of every 3 games (as he did in the Q league), difficult to coach, and any game he's played agaisnt the Habs, and ESPECIALLY in the 2021 playoffs, he's been very lackluster and unimpressive.

I'd love Dubois on the team, and I can imagine Jets are looking for a big return. But as a Habs fan, there's no way I'm willing to give up on the young guns pushing up, like Logan Mailloux, Lane Hutson, Kayden Guhle, Arber Xhekaj, Sean Ferrell or Owen Beck, and definitely none of my first picks for the next 2 or 3 seasons considering they're likely to be high picks.

I would be willing to part ways with Jordan Harris whom I very much like. I'd give up maybe a Jesse Ylonen and a 2nd rnd pick but I can't imagine Jets saying yes to that.

In short… I like PLD, but I much prefer betting on the young stacked talent we have pushing up rather than risk parting ways with a future elite player for one who doesn't show up over half the time.

  10. Why the f Montreal would trade a 1st and a prospect for someone who is already coming here free ?

  11. hot do you think Montreal can pay Dubois? number 22 will sign a contract that will make 2 pleyers close or and over 8 millions a year. I will be very surprized if that trade does occur. we will see.

  12. Habs will give sweet F all for Dubois. Makes no sense for Mtl. This is 100% Jets management's failure and it's their problem to deal with, not Dubois or the Habs.. Jets get fleeced or get nothing at all.

  13. You have one problem with your statement, Montreal will never have to pay a premium for him because they don’t need him right now, literally all they have is time.

  14. 1st rounder + prospect + whatever for Dubois???
    Ok.
From Winnipeg point of view, sure that Dubois value is high.
    But.
From our, I.e. Canadiens fan, point of view though, thats utter fantasy: our captain is our #1 center and 21 years old Dach is turning in that tall , skilled strong 2nd center we've been looking for.
As for the free agency, bad timing for him signing with us too; isn't worth for us , we are starting to see the results of development/scouting. Finally +

  15. As a Habs fan I say no thx to PLD… Can't stay consistent and has a bad attitude Mr. Entitlement..we will pass on this one hopefully

  16. If I was Chevy I would have tried to speak with Dubois before making the trade for him and actually ask him do you really want to be here long term and I wouldn’t have made the trade unless there was a long term contract but with his attitude issues I probably would have stayed away from him they could have gotten a better player for trading Laine

  17. I’m sorry but your take on the trade proposal is absolutely ridiculous there’s not way Dubois is getting as much as you were saying.. Dubois has fucked the jets by making it public that he doesn’t want to play anywhere other then Montreal the most you’ll get from Montreal is a 2023 second round pick a B Level Prospect and Dvorak no way your getting an A level Prospect and a first round pick especially with the slump he’s been on lately and probably continuing the slump until the end of the season

  18. Habs will never trade a ''premium'' like you said.. he will end up be a habs anyway so why? 2nd rd + B prostect thats it. Best thing for Jets is to trade him at trade deadline for rental.

  19. Montreal could get him for a 1st and a 3rd if they really want. They could sign him to an offer sheet of $6M for 1 year. If Winnipeg matches it, they're not allowed to trade him for a calendar year. By that time, he would be a UFA and Montreal could have him for nothing. If Winnipeg doesn't match, they get a 1st and a 3rd as compensation.
