> I think the biggest thing you notice that stands out is his stick and how good his stick is. A guy thinks he’s got him beat and then all of a sudden his nine-foot go-go gadget stick comes out and knocks the puck away

Also, I thought this was a really insightful comment:
> Tyson Jost: “You know what? I don’t know if he’s really underrated, but I don’t know if he gets enough praise. I’m going to go Dahls. I had the privilege to play with Makar, too, for all of those years. That’s probably the best defenseman in the NHL. Then I came here and saw Dahls and I was like, ‘Holy smokes.’ Dahls is right there with Cale. They’re different players, but I think Dahls’ puck touches and how he controls the game, not just in the offensive zone but how much poise he has on the blue line. Maker is more explosive and can beat you with speed, but Dahls is so poised in how he possesses the puck and postures and stuff like that. He makes defenders bite so much. Cale would just kind of like do a little move and beat you but Dahls does it more with patience. In the d-zone, he does the exact same thing. It’s like a one-man breakout with him. When you’re on the ice with him as a forward and you see Dahls going back, you think you can cheat a bit because you know he’s going to be able to escape from that forward or whatever. I know he gets recognition and stuff like that but I don’t think people realize how truly, truly good he is.”

The funniest part of this is Comrie acknowledging that they’re aware of how much better their record is when Samuelsson plays. I wonder if there is a mental component of “shit Sammy isn’t playing so we’re going to lose”.

Very telling that all three goalies said Samuelsson.

Its crazy to me that Power slides under the radar on his own team. Him and Quinn have exceeded expectations this year

Most underrated player is definitely Tyson Jost, dude brings energy, and puck possession in our bottom 6 and can play with anyone.

The fact that all 3 goalies said Samuelsson means that it’s not coincidental that the team has better on ice save percentage when Samuelsson is on the ice, analytics suggest that Samuelsson concedes lots of XGs and he’s just lucky goaltending is somehow good when he’s on but I think that’s not true after reading this, interesting.

Best answer was from Anderson on Sammy lol:
