The Toronto Maple Leafs had an up-and-down weekend after shutting out the Ottawa Senators and losing to the Detroit Red Wings. Mike DiStefano and David Morassutti give their thoughts on the back-to-back starting with the win over their Battle of Ontario rival and what impressed them from the game. They move on to the loss to Detroit where the Leafs decided to rest Mitch Marner, Jake McCabe, and Mark Giordano which was a head-scratcher considering the team hasn’t clinched home ice in the first round. They discuss some of the mistakes the Leafs made against Detroit and why it continues to be a trend with this team. Matt Murray was forced to leave the game after a nasty fall on the ice, Dave explains why he was frustrated with the injury, a potential EBUG situation and could happen between the pipes going forward. To end the show, Mike and Dave give their thoughts on Michael Bunting getting on the officials bad side and Sheldon Keefe’s comments about the situation.

Didn't watch the game tonight watch wrestlemania instead but honestly Murray is like a fragile glass can't be trusted in the playoffs might as well run with Woll I guess. And yeah Cody was cheated all that build up to see him lose to a wash up Reigns who can't win a match on his own he needs help
Sure Murray allowed 2 ugly goals but defence was no less of a concern. Furthermore there is NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER for the Leafs not to score 3 OR MORE goals in EACH and EVERY game although once again they fell short. Keefe needs to make MAJOR changes to various lines to send a message that piss-poor efforts like on Sunday Eastern Time vs the Wings will NOT be TOLERATED!!!

Anyone who would blame Murray for that is just plain mental.
Keefe conceded the game when he scratched Marner. It is sad that one player makes that much difference but the Leafs are a lottery team without Marner. Dubas, assuming he stays, needs to think long and hard about that before he decides how much he wants to pay Matthews and Nylander.
Where was the pushback on the Murray hit. Raymond should be drinking chicken noodle soup through a straw. Can you imagine what the Bruins would do is someone did that to Ullmark.
Bunting. Someone with the Leafs. Higher than Dubas. Needs to call Bettman and tell him if he doesn't get the refs and the DoPS in line now or their will be consequences. If Bettman doesn't get in line, start forfeiting games in places like Arizona and Columbus.
And the media. Start naming these refs, put their pictures on the screen and tell everyone where they are from. Show replays again and again and ask viewers if they would keep their jobs if they were that bad at them. Bring some real pressure on the officials and the League.
Lolz that you think it was set up for Rhodes? Considering it's all scripted and the winners/losers are predetermined wouldn't it be fairer to say Rhodes was never meant to win it?
I'm prettttty sure if WWE wanted Rhoades to win they would have made him win lmao it made more sense narratively that he lost… if he won like everyone expected nobody would be talking about it.
I would have preferred Murray for playoff run and woll to get eased into his role. I mean it's definitely samsonovs net to lose but at least Murray would have been there. Now woll is going to be thrust into that role.
Ironically I like wolls reflexes and positioning, he stays pretty square to the shot as well. His reflexes are pretty on par he's not just swimming out there.
Woll is at the age where he can get into the spot light.
I'm not making any predictions but we may have to lean on Holl down the stretch. It seems eerily reminiscent of Matt Murray in the 15 16 season when pit won the cup. He played 13 games that year and was leaned on in the playoffs. As much as we want to dismiss it. Rookies sometimes come through for a team. It's rare but it happens. Go Leafs go
Bunting pisses everyone off, including Keefe, nothing new here. Murray isn't a goalie you can depend on so getting Woll in some games would be a good idea. Also, this isn't the first time I've got the impression that Sammy doesn't want to be the sole starter. He seems happy being in a 1A/1B environment, he doesn't come across as someone that wants the net to be just his. Last point, home ice means nothing to this team (see 3 playoff series they've been in vs Columbus, Montreal and Tampa). Rest whomever needs it..don't chase home ice.
They controlled the play after the Wings held the lead after the 1st period… while the RW we no longer on the offence protecting the lead
Nobody is talking about the Lightning faltering now that they won the last 3 games 4-0; 5-1 and 5-0.. They are sure getting in playoff shape.
