  1. Jesse's a pretty likeable guy. Too bad it didn't work out here in Edmonton & I hope he can turn it around in Carolina. I have one piece of advice though. 7 years and he still struggles to spit out a sentence in English. If he puts some kind of effort into learning the language maybe he'll find it easier to understand the coaches. I'm guessing he's back in Europe next season & that's just sad cause he has so much potential

  2. Just wait and see how Puljujärvi rises to totally new level, because there are multiple friends to speak with him. Mark my words that he will elevates his game and plays much better in Canes.

  3. Edmonton is a very hard town to play in because it's a hockey town and they have nothing better to do than obsess about every single player. Players there kind of live under a toxic microscope and their press is just as brutal too. It's even worse pressure with everyone wanting a cup for McDavid right NOW. Jesse is a great player and you guys are going to love him. You'll see…. As a non toxic Oiler's fan I am going to miss him but I'll be watching from afar and cheering him on for the rest of his career.

  4. From this life long Oiler fan, I wish Jesse could've stayed. He's a skilled player with good vision and a solid defensive game. He has a great shot and his ability to keep plays alive is sometimes an underrated and underappreciated skill. I sincerely hope he finds success in Carolina. Once an Oiler, always an Oiler. Good luck Jesse!

  5. Oilers fan here. I saw Jesse playing in Finnland and for the Oilers and he still has a lot potential. Will follow his journey in Carolina. Beeing part of the finnish group may help him get started. He can be a legit top 6 winger still. His english improved a lot btw…

  6. Jesse's strong side is defence and he is very good 3th line guy. What Carolina needs to do is his offence game needs to get going. He actually have quite nice hands and if coached well i can see him a menace front of the goal. Also his role was bit iffy on Oilers. I think this is player Rob will love to coach and push forward. Like De'angelo last year needed good coaching Jesse will too. So this year i dont have super high hopes on offence side on his game but next year i can see him top 6 forward if they get him rolling. And he fits canes style super nice. I was hoping Colorado picks him up but happy for canes for good pickup

  7. About that visa issue; KK had the same problem when they aquired him. It took about a week to get everything in order if I remember right. But Jesse can play in Montreal for sure as he already has Canadian visa.
Will Rod bring Jesse in without any practice with the team? We'll see.

  8. Tell coach Brindamour, to try Jesse Puljujarvi on D-fence. Get Brent Burns to train him as he was a RW turned D-man. Jesse is strong, has a giant wingspan and size 15 pontoons, which made it hard to fly with the Oilers McDavid / Draisaitl tandem. Jesse's game is not suited for Top 6 cross-ice one-timer hockey but rather for cycling. He sees the game as a D-man would. . Even though Jesse is -11, Draisaitl who has 96 pt's is -1. It is obvious Puljujarvi couldn't read Draisaitl or vice-versa. Puljujarv's years of playing forward should give him the offensive skills that most d-men don't have He will be a natural born D-man with the extra time he would get to make plays, just ask Brent Burns

  9. Hey Jared…I just gave you a shot…I can;t get past 6:20 "it wasn't what I was expecting" You mentioned earlier…I'm not "surprised" I'm just not. Wear a pair of glasses, paint a picture of Mier's face, and pretend it's him! sit back and enjoy! Carolina is getting ""A world of potential"" in Jesse ""Trust in that""… A great guy, with "A" team first attitude! Jesse will be missed bye the Oiler Faithful, To trade Jesse to Carolina is a move "For Jesse" and a chance to fit in to a team that is more suitable "For Jesse" as now he get's the chance to play with fellow countrymen, a little more icetime, and he will "Not" disappoint…His hard work, positive attitude, team player, and infectious Happy Personality, will make him a fan favorite without any doubt! The "Bison King" has found a new home…Now, His "True" N.H.L career can begin. I hope This Paragraph helps you Jared in future podcasts…Don't just be a ""Naa Sayer"" be Optimistic, look at someones potential, not there past. Don't keep saying "The Same Thing" over and over again! Good luck Jared.

  10. Canes have a work in progress with Jesse, even after 7 yrs in the NHL. What they have is a 6'4" man/child with a poor hockey IQ (not just my opinion but many Oiler followers and "experts) If he can get his game together than the canes have a quality top 6 winger but more likely a bottom six winger. Change of scenery could be just what the doctor ordered for Jesse.

  11. The Bison King is a funny nickname 😂 He got this nickname only because he once took a photo of himself and his dog in front of a bison lol

  12. thank you canes for taking one of are anchors we need the much needed cap space to bring in a stud for this dud. i know he will chew that tongue off before he has a 30 point season
