Sidney Crosby is my all time favourite player and I consider myself incredibly lucky to have been able to watch him over the years. 3 cups with the Pens, all the personal hardware and as a Canadian, the Golden goal is one I’ll never forget. But, maybe the most impressive thing about Crosby on the ice, for me, is the consistency. So, with Crosby’s assist on Rickard Rakell’s goal against the New York Rangers the other night, Crosby officially clinched his 18th career point per game season of his 18 seasons in the NHL. This is second only to the great one Wayne Gretzky who had 19. With that, I began to reminisce on the incredible career the Pittsburgh Penguins captain, Sidney Crosby has had and so in today’s NHL hockey video, I wanted to share one of my favourite Crosby stories that you maybe have never heard!

Great player, but a worthless player, cheap shot artist….
He’s a nice guy
I read this story before, but I still found it an emotional story. Very classy
People criticize him for being boring and a whiner but the dude has been nothing but a solid player and ambassador to the game his entire career. No drama, no scandals, no BS just pure gold. Check out the story of him hanging out with some kid he met on an outdoor ring one day in Tremblant. Sid dragged his GF along when the kid wanted to show Sid the rink indoor rink he works at. Sid’s the real deal and all Canadians should be proud
He is Canadian 🤷🏻♂️🇨🇦
Sid is the definition of class👏
No Crosby story will top “3 YEARS SUPER LEAGUE!!”
As a Flyers fan, Crosby is a class act. What a legend
He is the best player in the NHL, he has been the face of the NHL for a good while.
The things he does for kids in buying them hockey equipment is great, a lot of people don't know what he does for people.
Gotta love Sid! Named my dog after him and she just passed away last month. They even had the same birthday.
Super sweet story
I think we were engaged back in the 1900s can you contact for hockey my kid just finished his 2 year O :))
He is a class act and a great player and still going great a wonderful human being
Awesome video man!
He gave a kid I coached his all star jersey somewhere around 2012 after the boys father died in a skiing accident, no fanfare or news stories, just a good deed by a genuinely good man. I know some guys that know him well and he really is that guy.
Maurice would have been proud. Two of the greatest captains in any sport.
Dang!! Respect Sid even more after learning that!!! 💪👏
Sid also grew up a habs fan
Oh my goodness what a wonderful story…
Met Crosby after the golden goal. I use to bring away players their lunch at canadian tire center. That said Crosby was the biggest piece of shit I met out of all the players I met
A class act.
Crosby has to shoot and score more as the #1 center if the penguins want to win
Thanks for sharing; such a great story. I mean what an excellent way to connect with someone. Beautiful.
I'm a Tabs fan to but Sid is all class and a he'll of a player
Hockey players are some of the best human beings in sports. No ego, all humility.
Sid's the best, forever my favorite player !
What a guy
I didn’t know this story. Thank you so much for sharing.
No skeletons, except for maybe Marc Methot's finger …? lol, give me a break.
It's nice to reminisce about a player later in their career, but to call Crosby a class act, is laughable at best. The only reason he avoided suspensions during his career for all some absolutely horrific acts on the ice, is because he is a superstar that sold merchandise and put asses into seats.
The same people who are praising Crosby's name in the comments are the same that will call Marchand a rat for basically the same things.
Yes, he has had some amazing moments on the ice and is a great hockey player but, maybe not add a halo to someone's head just because they are good at playing a sport.
Excellent!
Greatest ever
You don't hear about it, because Sid doesnt do that stuff for clout or media attention he does it because he's a good dude and genuinely cares.
Generational talent. 100%
Great player. He wouldn’t be such a whiner if he didn’t learn that from Mario. Great player.
Lol the minute he said canadiens sid knew the name would be on it
Awesome Story! I was lucky enough to get to know him here @ Shattuck when he went to school here! Great Kid and Awesome Family!!! Rooster
Holy Dina… smacked right in the face.
I've heard this story numerous times and it never gets old and is always emotional. This kid is the epitome of a role model. He also has his little Penguins foundation where he outfits kids head to toe with hockey equipment, he also has his own suite at PPG Paint Arena where he gives free tickets to disadvantaged kids/charitable groups. I am sooo glad he was drafted and hopefully plays his entire career for the Penguins! (My favorite Pro Hockey Team)!
Class act….
I disliked him at first cause I’m a Red Wings fan. But I’ve grown to like him over the years
