That's 100% on purpose. Kadri is trying to single-handedly throw the season, probably to get Sutter fired, but he made it way too obvious here. That was literally a pass to the other team. And in the other end, he gives the puck away on a soft pass to start that entire rush. The two soft giveaways in a row plus that defensive effort after make it clear this was intentional.
