I can count on one hand the things the team did right tonight. It's idiotic to bring Primeau up just to destroy his confidence when he was doing well in LaValle. No help in front of him to speak of and again ; lots of passing back and forth in Detroits end but few shots on net. All in all a pretty effortless showing.
Montreal's defensive zone coverage has been terrible for most of the season, whether it's been two rookie, a veteran and rookie pairing or two veteran defensemen. There's been countless times throughout the season when I've noticed both D-men behind the net or both on the same side of the net, leaving the front of the net vacant and an opposing player alone. I've felt early on that Primeau was not an NHL goaltender. He has played better in his two performances this season, although it was against Philadelphia and Detroit, as in previous appearances he would allow two or three bad goals per game. In tonight's game he had little chance on most goals as often this season Montembeault and Allen had little support with redirections, deflections, being screened and goals against on back door plays.
I'd be curious to know how many times the Habs gave a goal on first shot this season.. feels like it happened almost every game.
I’ve never seen a team pass the puck backwards more than this team. That can only lead to trouble. Whatever happened to headmanning the puck. Like the commercial says ‘the nets that way boys’.
Who , in that current team on the ice, will be in the line up of the opening game next season?
Edmunson looked real bad he is a puck watcher instead of doing HIS job and picking up guys in front of the net.Too many are puck watching and chasing they need to THINK much smarter and READ the plays.
These guys need some serious coaching a lot of bad habits and just nobody thinking much out there.
The news may be worse because They are only 1 pt behind Arizona so there is a very good chance they could pass Arizona in the standings and drop a position in the draft albeit if they play like tonight they won't be catching anyone.
Tough game, good video, you guys were the highlight of the game tonight, great work!
What does everyone expect with the team they are forced to ice lol??? 🤷♂️
Puck watching puck chasing this team needs to get some serious coaching not just a guy who sets the lineup and stands behind the bench. We don't need a guy who "sends a message" we need a coach who sees the problems and works to fix them.
With Suzuki idk man people are seeing more than what is really going on.Nick's sht % is 15 that is is above normal so his 23 goals would typically be maybe 20 because he is not getting even 2 shots a game and your top players MUST have 2 shots a game.So i don't see how this team will ever be a top contender if we are expecting and THINK a second line player can lead us to the cup.
We had better hope we get Conor Bedard because even that won't be enough.
Two main things "pick up a man quit puck watching" and SHOOT the darn puck i cannot believe the Habs have PP players that can't get even 1 shot on goal the ENTIRE game.
Florida is winning and might keep winning because the yare fighting for the playoffs.Given the habs track record in the draft i wouldn't hold my breathe on them picking a good first rounder.
Poor defense, no talents imo. Nobody is covering goalie tonight.
We really need no 1 center and players like Lehkonnen and Danault. Really bad trade for Lehkonnen IMO.
Primeau's ceiling is backup NHL goalie if he works hard for a few years and progresses cause it aint happening anytime soon.
Cayden will be an AHL Backup for life. Guy just can't catch a break
These last 2 games against the Red Wings and Carolina have been 2 of the worst NHL games I have ever seen played by any team.
It seems like these two rehearse before they film. Maybe it would be more interesting if they were a bit more spontaneous.
Primeau is not NHL caliber at least for the next few years
excited about Dobes
Habs conditioning is really concerning. How is it possible they have nothing left when other teams are just warming up for playoffs? Obviously, injuries are no coincidence.
