The Connor Bedard move that NO ONE can stop…

#nhl #hockey #montrealcanadiens

Connor Bedard is the most hyped NHL prospect since Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby. Aside from his deadly release from range, we break down what makes Bedard SO good in 1 on 1 situations with the goalie, and how he uses different moves based on his angle of attack.

  1. That coming from the right as a right-hander and going backhand forehand through the five-hole has already been mastered by a little-known person in the NHL called David Pasternak 😂

  2. I'd like to see the old school poke check come back for goalies today. I've been a goalie for a very long time and grew up with a very different style then the goalies of today but watching this reel of goals it becomes obvious that a huge percentage of these goals all have a final movement within a couple feet of the front of the goalie. I know that the speed today is insane but with goalie pads designed to completely cover the ice and 5 hole a quickly executed poke check can be effective when the players are that close.

  3. Yeah, I taught him all that. Wasn't sure he was going to get it, but the kid is a good student! 😂😂😂😂😂😂 He make-a sweet love to the puck!

  4. Please don’t compare this kid to mcdavid and McKinnon. He’s good but slow your roll

  5. While they aren’t comparable in size, Connor sees the game like 66. I’m more impressed with his vision. He doesn’t do it through extraordinary skill like 97, shaping the play like 99, but by being so dominant around the perimeter, he creates opportunities.

  6. he's Tyler Ennis size and stick handling with Matthews shot. Which would make him an inferior version of Matthews. Not McDavid level but potentially could be 90% of Matthews level in his prime.

  7. So what I’m seeing is he shoots like a hybrid of Nathan Mackinnon and Logan Couture when it comes to scoring off the rush

  8. He reminds me of Lafleur who loves his wrist shots. But he has the goal scoring prowess of Lemieux. It will be interesting to see him in the NHL.

  9. Great breakdown. Kid does two moves that aren’t even remotely new, just does them absolutely perfectly and at the right times. Hate calling it early because we’ve so many not live up but this kids going to be special

  10. Solid analysis. Big big factors in his release are the length and flex of his stick. He favors a longer and way whippier flex (~70 flex) when compared to similar sized players.

  11. That is my move. I invented it in 1973 in my backyard in Minnesota on my little rink my Dad built me when I was 8-yrs old.
And we had better goalies then too! And I don't need someone like you to tell me how a gen. Z-er has reinvented the game!

  12. BTW the goalie is watching the puck ALWAYS, not looking in the shooters eyes or head, so don't think the goalies are "freezing" when a shooter looks down. The nuances of his deke are more datsyukian than a head fake

  13. Kid is awesome,,,but hockey today is women's hockey…..no slashing…no hitting…no balls

  14. God I miss the dominator!! Poke check, scissor kick, scorpion, spina rama, throw the glove up behind your back, or the classic just skate out past the circle and take em out!!!!!
