As a Caps fan I'm devastated to see Orly go but I'm glad he's gone to the leading team (except for the likelihood that first rounder is very late)

Orlov, you keep focusing on the fact that he's only 5' 11" and forgetting he's 215 pounds on that 5'11" frame
Love the deal, bit on TDL day I would like a couple more moves, a solid vet for depth on D a #7 type guy and also want a big name up front, go for it, someone like Meier would be awesome and pushes others down the lineup, which only makes your team even deeper and better.

I couldn't stand Hathaway when the Bruins played the Caps. I love that he is now a Bruin.
As an older man in poor health, I don't mind this trade because I am not concerned with the future of the Bruins. I expect this is the last season for the next decade, that Boston will be in the Stanley Cup conversation. May as well go all-in as far as I'm concerned.
Draft picks aren't a big deal since Sweeney seems to be rather inept at the draft table.

Put Hathaway on the second line with Krechi and Pasta. That line gets dominated often and has no one willing to lay the body every night
It would have too be a great trade for the bruins too make another trade. This was a great trade the management made it just what they needed for play off hockey.

My point: Your lineup flexibility is absolutely silly.
Excellent deal for the Bruins. You get a legit top D-man that can do a little bit of everything and a bottom 6 forward that’s extremely tough to play against. Two things you absolutely need in the playoffs nowadays and all you really lose is an underperforming Smith. Great move.
