  1. Keep in mind that the Wild did not sign Boldy to a RFA bridge contract, so they are paying more in the short run for the savings in the long run.

  2. An important note for Matt Boldy is that when the season started till the trade deadline he wasn't playing with any offensively-minded players like he did last year with Kevin Fiala. Since trade deadline when the Wild acquired Marcus Johansson who is a very offensively-minded player who uses speed and plays deep in the zone. the result is that Mojo is giving Boldy more freedom to move and lines up with Boldy's play style better. He's also playing with the NHL's most underrated second-string center Joel Eriksson Ek so he has been playing solid for a little bit here.

  3. huge part of his success is the acquisation of marcus johansson, they have great chemistry

  4. The fact that the Wild are so competitive this year with $13 million in dead cap space is something that isn't talked about enough.

Boldy is a stud, first half the season he had no support on his line. Might have close to 40 goals if he had Johanson with all season.

  5. Just saying a future dynasty will be
    Kaprizov Rossi Zucc
    Boldy JEE Boeser
    Foligno Gaudreau Khusnutdinov
    Reaves Beckman Duhaime

    Spurgeon Addison
    Klingberg Brodin
    Lambos Faber

    Wallstedt

Like if you know these prospects and if we pick up Boeser and clear up space to keep klingberg for next year like get rid of Dumba Hartman Fleury Gus Goligoski. So with all that and u know these prospects this looks like a dynasty to me billy g is elite

Also Zucc is 35 yes old but look at pavelski and he has shown 0 signs of slowing down same with Zucc and if he has Kirill an Rossi like pavelski has Robertson and hints I think he’ll be fine.

  6. Ericksen Ek needs to be talked about to.. by far the best center on the wild and had been a huge help with creating the opportunities for boldy to score. He is such an overlooked player for the wild

  7. The addition of Johansson has turned the Boldy line into another #1 line. When 97 comes back, Zuccarello and Hartman will become another first line. If Nyquist comes in and starts to produce the PP will also become dangerous with 97 back. The loss to Vegas involved some serious lack of puck luck in the third.
A few pipes and a missed lone break, otherwise it could have easily been a one goal game with Vegas bagging an empty netter. Vegas did dictate the style of play and plugged the middle well playing a smart game with the lead.
The Wild are an extremely dangerous team this spring. As for Boldy, he has blossomed and with Rossi lighting it up at Iowa, the future is bright with all these young guys in the pipeline.

  8. If not for the dead cap, the Wild would be as good or better than Boston this year. The NHL really screwed MN over on the Parise/Suter buyouts.

  9. On Wednesday it’ll be 4 weeks he’s been out. I can’t wait for him to be playing again but at the same time don’t want him back before he’s 100%

  10. $7 million for the next 7 years is a fricken steal of a contract negotiated by Guerin and his crew.
