There were ALOT of Stars fans that were underwhelmed or upset and I actually liked Deboer even though he was not my favorite, I like him as a coach.
Both coaches have had their fair share of challenges.
I think bones laid the framework and took a lot of the growing pains on his shoulders. The first half of 21-22 was pretty miserable. There was a ton of drama with Klinger. Bones took the risk on the goalie who got sent down to the AHL – Oetter.
Pete has really done a great job building upon that stronger foundation. Benn and Heiskanens success, I think, can directly be attributed to Pete’s coaching.
…having Nashville, St Louis, Arizona, and Chicago in the division probably helps too.
