How…how is that the kind of performance that the Pittsburgh Penguins put out with everything on the line? Hunter starts the show trying his best to answer that question as the Penguins no-showed one of their most important games of the season on Tuesday night. They were done for at the drop of the puck as they looked a step slow. Right out of the gate, that was all it took. He discusses how the Devils’ speed was giving them fits and why they made poor decisions with the puck whenever they got it. You simply cannot play like that when you’re in a playoff race, especially when you have a game in hand on a team in front of you in the standings. After that, Hunter looks at how Hextall’s fingerprints continue to be all over this roster with how Mikael Granlund and especially Jeff Petry looked. He analyzes how Petry played some atrocious defense throughout the game and why he made a terrible pinch that led to Dawson Mercer’s first goal of the game. He then still wonders what Hextall saw in Granlund as he struggled at both ends of the ice and po0nders at how good this team could be if it actually had depth since the Penguins now have SIX different 20-goal scorers this season. Finally, Hunter looks ahead to the final four games for the Penguins, Islanders, and Panthers, and argues that every game now is a must-win, especially with their schedules.

NOTE: Apologies if the webcam looks…choppy for the first time since I got it. My Wifi must've been on what the Penguins were on tonight. Wanted to address that before this airs.
This is the 11th game, this season, where the Pens were blown out, or weren't even competitive in the game…maybe scoring a late goal to avoid being shutout.
After seeing their play, tonight, I'll be absolutely shocked if they even get a point against Minnesota or Detroit.
If they continue to play like this, FSG needs to clean house, from the front office down to the bench. They've already tried the "replace all of the assistants" thing, and the team from this season and last year, are the result.
I agree with you that they'd be lucky, exceptionally lucky, to even win a playoff game. They would play, either, Boston or Carolina and have been 0-2-1 against Boston, and 0-2-2 against Carolina. The only positive of those games is that, at least, they were competitive, and not blow outs.
If Rakell, Zucker, and Malkin get hot, for the last four games, we could see five 30 goal scorers.

Petry has been terrible all season. Its almost like he plays the game a speed level lower than the penguins
Imagine this team with mccann, or imagine we didn’t trade marino and matheson. And just made better decisions like not trading for granlund. I hope they win out
I want to know how many multi goal leads they have blown this year. I think back to so many games they were up by at least two and ended up losing. All the lost points added up to this. Like they blew a 4-0 lead at home to Detroit. They blew all the games to the islanders. We probably don’t deserve to be in the playoffs based on our play this year, but I hope we make it for the streak.
They are done they don't belong in the playoffs. They cant beat any decent teams if you look they have probly the worst record against playoff teams. Heckstall doomed this team. Marino is better than Petry and Rutta. The mismanagement is astonishing. Cup runs are over GM destroyed the team.
Idk at this point I’d rather them maybe not even make the playoffs. We will probably play Boston if we do and we will get steam rolled. I’d rather not make it and get Hextall the hell outta here.
The only way for Pittsburgh to make the playoffs is win the rest of their games, Senators have a losing streak, Panthers have a OTL streak, Islanders have a losing streak, and Buffalo have a 7 game win streak.
Nothing really to say, horrible performance. I will say with each game they lose, the clock is ticking for Ron Hextall and Brian Burke’s time here.

Blackhawks beat The Flames last night who are fighting for a playoff spot. Woulda been BH’s 8th loss in a row. As of right now everything says the Pens are going on vacation next week.

Just looks like everyone has checked out already, other than the core guys on most nights. They play like garbage and sully refuses to play any way other then how they played in cop years. They aren't a fast team anymore but come out night after night after night with no distended outcome. Always felt sully is an amazing coach, but man he looks awful and can't adjust his team, in game. Major moves need to be done for next year
