Killorn slashing on Shesterkin – Have your say!

There’s so much to unpack here. The late whistle. Goal or no goal (it was deemed a goal). Was Killorn making a play on the puck? Was this a slash? Was it a spear? Tough Call will be reviewing the incident. Have your say!

  1. Tough call or not there will always be a guy or guys or someone that will say it is or it isn't….a player can get his head cut off and you'll get one saying oh what a pussy get up 😂

  2. He just speared him in the groin. Only thing questionable about this is the late whistle.

  3. Don't care about either team, even hate the rags, but that was a douche move. He knew exactly what he was doing and it wasn't playing the puck. Not like he ain't known for being a douchebag when Tampa is getting embarrassed.

  4. Puck was visible, Killorn taps the puck in and his follow-through slides Shesterkin back into the net. It sucks but thats a good hockey play and a goal with no whistle until after the fact.

  5. The whistle hadnt blown, puck not covered. I dont see a penalty but MAYBE two for slash or goalie interference. Definitely no suspension. Did he deserve the punches? Yes.

  6. Remember how spearing is supposed to be an automatic 5 minute major?
    No?
Yeah neither does the NHL, weird.

  7. If you watch the replay shesterkin is literally sitting on the puck in the net before Killorn came into the picture not to mention he had both legs closed and his glove was there to cover any loose puck he couldn’t see. This spear from Killorn was a dangerous play and definitely deserved a 5 minute. Y’all crazy thinking this was still a loose puck. The puck is non existent before Killorn spears him and it’s because it’s literally under him. It’s when shesterkin reacts to being speared you can then see the puck clearly under his butt. Dangerous and dirty play by Killorn.

  8. No whistle = keep playing.

    But likewise…

Spearing the opposing goalie in the nutsack = gargantuan beatdown coming.

  9. Someone should slash the hand Killorn for clearly attempting to injure the goalie. BtW i hate both teams, so i am not biased. Everytime players do shit to goalies should be taken out. I reckon a blindide hit to take him out for rest of the season would suffice and send a signal that clear attempts to injure is not acceptable. Actually i hope that any player in the existing games against lightning takes out Killorns knees or blindeside hits the fuck out of him. That would be karma and justice. Or better, take out Vasilevsky for a year.

  10. The puck was still in play, it’s not spearing or slashing as there was no intent to do either, he was simply going for the puck and that not a penalty.

  11. this started about 3 fights in the 2nd period! if one of my players got into a fight I would put him on the bench, this is Hockey not the Wbc or Wba.
scoring goals wins games not fighting.

  12. Rangers' fan here and I don't understand why everybody is so up in arms about this play. Igor didn't have the puck covered and the whistle had only blown a fraction of a second before Killorn arrived on the scene. It was a stupid play by Killorn and he deserved to get an ass kicking, but this obviously wasn't some intentional spear or anything remotely close. Lindgren responded appropriately and the game went on as it should have.

  13. That's a goal – crossed the line before the whistle. Killorn gets a dirty one, but it's good.

  14. Fuck that shit. Throw killorn out of the league. That was such bullshit. While youre at it, throw out Tom wilson too

  15. how can he still have a head? bush league play – saw the opportunity to "run" the goalie & took it. you need to check the nhl site for the alternate angle from the camera embedded in the ice looking up to see that the puck is clearly under the trapper.

  16. Its a spear, its' cheap, and it is how really good teams behave when they realize they are in a positional descent…look at the Islanders goon-ing it up after their incredible run. Vukota, Baumgartner, etc.

  17. When player safty is ex goon idiot players this is whats aloud i the league!! Yzerman like players should health and safty not idiot goon players who where only there to hurt ppl

  18. Dayum… speared? Yes. These two angles suck. Can’t tell if the puck was loose and the whistle comes Milli seconds before the spear. Would have loved to see this live.

  19. i’m just disappointed the rangers didn’t return the favor to vasilevsky. but i guess that’s the difference between teams with class and those without

    i’ll take the 6-3 W

  20. That should have been 2 minutes for spearing plus 2-5 more for unsportsmanlike conduct. If I were a ranger I would have come up from behind him and given him an uppercut between his legs with my stick.

  21. Those that say "Play until the whistle" are delusional. Is spearing OK? A loose puck means you can hit it WITHOUT hitting the goalie with your stick.
IMO, goalies need to be refed the same way as all other players more often. If you hit the goalies glove with your stick, it's slashing. If you jam your stick into his legs or body, it's spearing.
On the flip side, if a goalie plays the puck and doesn't quickly get out of the way, it's interference. If he misses a poke check and trips someone, call it.

  22. I almost…almost actually want Toronto to finally go onto the 2nd round just because of how much the TBL act like little b!tch @ss pu$$ies anytime they start to lose a game. It's pathetic, it's the John Cooper way…

But, then again, watching Toronto lose only to watch Tampa Bay lose in round 2, will be joyous.

  23. The puck crossed the goal line while in the air and landed on Igor's lap/leg (still over the line), that should have been the whistle for a goal but the official was not in a great position. Igor was trying to hold the puck against his leg with his glove and scoot forward when Killorn came in like a nut-seeking missile leading with the point of his stick blade, making contact with the goalie. That is a spear, there is nothing in rule 62 that says a spar is intentional (although it USUALLY is). So goal yes, spear yes.

  24. Puck had crossed the goal line after the goalie was pushed into the net, goalie had let his guard down and was trying to reset when the Tampa player intentionally speared him. Should have been an automatic 5 min penalty and having the player thrown out of the game.

  25. Fine and suspension is totally warranted. Its unacceptable from killorn and, if it were my team, I'd want to see blood. That said… ref… come on man… blow the whistle.

  26. Good old tampons back at it again. Bunch of sore losers. I mean look at game 6 when they went crying to the refs haha. Shit was classic.

Gotta love the delusional tampon fans
