The Ducks were supposed to be through the worst of it, but this season has been a disaster on the ice.

I’ll be happy if they’re in the top 2. Well worth the terrible season. I’ll even take top 4.
I do see improvement next year if for no other reason we’ll have a new coach. Eakins seems like a nice guy, but he’s not an NHL coach.
Does GMPV keep Eakins as heads coach? He said, he wanted a full year to review his performance. Well, it’s been a pretty awful year. Bedard, added free agents, and new coach would put this team back in it a lot sooner.
At any rate, it’s nice to know that the Ducks were only terrible in 2022.
They got to get rid of Jakob Silfverberg, 5.2 million for 26 points is not good, Eakins should have been fired 2 months ago, need to find another Ryan Kesler at center.
Next season? Borderline wild card/3rd in pacific. I won’t be surprised that we miss the playoffs next season (setting my expectations low)
Quack… quack.. quack quack quack
Zegras and Drysdale are RFA this summer as well
I think they should resign Trevor zegras this offseason
Ughks have some good players and prospects but Zegras seems like a real corny dude. If you get Conny B, you may be seeing some players disenfranchised because of all the hype Beddy will get. I like McTavish. I think he is captain material, but with Conny coming in and all that bravado, I think there may be some clashes and plenty of playoff less years. Dwjggs are better of getting Fantilli or Carlsson. As a Kings fan, I want the struggles to continue. It is funny. NiNiedermayer, Pronger, and Selanne aren't walking through that door. I can't believe Gibby is still there. He was like the best goalie for a while and know he gets beaten quite easily. Man…that's tough.
80 points.
I wonder if Dallas Eakins gets let go, and if he does, if he gets another NHL head coaching job. His record between ANA and EDM is pretty brutal, but it's not like he's coached great teams either. Could see him ending up as an assistant or back in the AHL next year.
13:29 The current state of the Anaheim Ducks is probably California. They played yesterday in Edmonton and that's not too long of a flight to get back home, and then their next game is on Saturday in Arizona which is very short flight.
The Kings may be my primary team, but I also follow the Ducks & Golden Knights. Sure, the Ducks were very dismal this season, but that is not a surprise at all. IDK how many UFA's & RFA's Berube will keep, but he needs to keep Troy Terry. Even if they don't land Bedard, they should go for the best available player out there, then build around that player & Zegras.
The summer of 22-22
If we add beaded i think Verbeek might be pretty aggrieved in free agency to make this a pretty competitive team and try to push a 3 year window with this team while Bedards on that ELC bc if that happens by that time the ducks i imagine would be in a pretty serious cap crunch. If not i think he stays the course and waits another year of being bad before we move like Ottowa, Buffalo, or Detroit who are all trying to push into that regular playoff team tier. The lottery has been the date I’ve been looking forward to all year as a ducks fan
Have to disagree. It's gonna be a few more years before the Ducks turn it around. The one thing I wish they could fix would be the passing. Has been awful all year.
wonder why THG did not report on Michkov's father found dead in a pond near his apartment two or three days ago. This might have an effect in his decision of joining NHL this coming season
Winning the draft would be a good start, probably setting them up to be competitive two or three seasons from now with the right offensive players developed from within and a few brought in. You are right about the defense, it’s horrible. Probably a minimum of three new players brought in with a different coach is needed to bring in some chemistry and communication. I want to be optimistic, but if Dallas remains as head coach, that optimism is gone. He been given a good chance, and it hasn’t worked. It’s been hard watching the decline
The glue that held the Duck's defense had been peeling off probably around 2018-2019 season, so when Lindholm and Manson were gone I knew they were done, and here we are. Easily one of the worst Defenses I've seen all year. I think I focused a lot on Gibby's body language when I went to games this season, and how he plays so composed despite having no support whatsoever is so impressive to me. Everyone wants to pick on Gibson when things go wrong, but don't bother to blame the people in front of him.
I don't think I'll be hopeful for the Ducks until Eakins gets the door. I figure he's a great coach to lead a tank but if he's still in the HC position come start of next season, I'll have some serious doubts.
Otherwise, the team is in good shape. Terrible season ensuring a high pick in a stacked draft year. Plentiful cap space. Multiple young stars in the making. Incredibly bright future for this team and us fans.
Next season, probably middle of the Pacific. Year after I'm hopeful for a WC slot.
Guys that's not a typo, their season ended in November
To think I thought this team was gonna contend for a playoff spot this year…
Ducks didn't have much depth then Drysdale or so got injured early on. Gibson in Net making over 6M gives them no chance to win. Guy couldn't get it done in 2014 when rushed him into NHL. Maybe if they left him in AHL he would win Calder that year. Either way none of those Anaheim Goalies are good enough to win Cups as Carolina finds out every time Frederek Anderson or what his name hehe. Maybe if they got Bedard they are a lot closer to being Good again than Sharks. Kings are close to a major rebuild with Anze Kopitar on his way out. Byfield with his 3 goals don't even belong in NHL. He will never be a top line center is worst Winger on LAK. Can't even beat out 5'6 Lizotte when he is 6'5 to be 3rd or 4th line center nor RHC Kupari hehe ;).
I said last year that this year will be the last year the Ducks are bad but they may be really bad to get the pick they need. I stick by that call.
I want to talk about the ducks!
Watched the entire Oilers game and I will say that Anaheim definitely has a fun to watch team. They are fast and they have some talent.
Love the 22-22 title pls don't change it
Can you comment on Cale Makar? He is out "indefinitely" per Jared Bednar with a new LBI. There are a lot of people saying that they're just resting him for the playoffs and that his injury probably isn't serious, but they don't want to say "we're resting him for the playoffs". Do you think this is the case??
Really hope we can continue losing this season and get a shot at Bedard
I’m looking forward to the CBJ breakdown
You forgot to mention Sasha Pastujov from Sarnia Sting, 46 Games played 30G and 49A. I think if they land Bedard they should go after a Defenseman to solidify that Young defense until it matures, and I think they are pretty set other than getting more physicality to protect these guys
As a Die Hard Ducks fan the future is bright for this organization. A lot of great prospects and pieces.
What does Scott Niedermayer do for the Ducks other than please the fan base? Does he have any influence?
I think the Ducks get Connor Bedard, and then we get to the Stanley Cup Finals and win
