The Florida Panthers have claimed Montreal Canadiens defenceman and former top Habs draft pick Noah Juulsen off of waivers.
The Habs proceeded in sending forwards Corey Perry and Michael Frolik on waivers this morning, while the Vancouver Canucks sent Justin Bailey, Sven Baertschi, Tyler Graovac, Ashton Sautner, Guillaume Brisebois, and Loui Eriksson on waivers themselves.
That’s right, Loui Eriksson.

I still laugh about when we got Eriksson " Oh he may get 40 goals with Sedins " was heard and a friend said be funny if he got maybe 18 , who would have thought 18 would have been over his head . For sure him scoring on his own net set the tone for his days with Canucks . I am always surprised to see he is 6ft. 2in. plays like hes 5 ft 8 in.
Could someone explain me something. I tought that Juulsen had a 2-way contract. That allows him to go NHL-AHL without going on waivers. In addition, during a normal training camp and the pre-season games, no one is going on the waivers. Like I don't really understand?
Vancouver may just buy Eriksson out next season considering he only earns 1 mil in bonuses. However, that means that they have to spread out his remaining paycheck for that one year to two years.
😐
Hey Calgary, you've taken all our other players… what's one more?
You should do a video soon covering all the waiver claims
lmao juulsen was claimed, another 1st round pick down the toilet.
Snag Loui. Steal of this off-season
What do you think of Canucks grabbing Perry?
Canucks should try to get Perry on a 1 year contract.
It wasn't Loui's fault that he was gifted an insane contract, both in $$ and term. That said, there was never going to be a scenario where he provided bang for the buck. He certainly can't complain that he wasn't given every opportunity to play in the top 6. He started off being gifted a spot on the Sedin line. When that didn't work, they tried him in other situations, but he just never found any scenario where he could show value. The "little things" he provided could not save his roster spot, especially with such intriguing prospects moving up the food chain. Bye bye, Loui. Thanks for being a good whipping boy for Canuck Nation. (In the batter's circle Tyler Myers and his contract)
Lol Louie is still their, just wait when injury’s come
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The people in ones started teaming😂
Dallas got Loui’s best years. I was worried when we lost him, but now…
If Chiarelli was still GM, I wouldn’t be surprised if he would claim him.
Cover Oliver Kylington and calgary
Juulsen is a much bigger deal than louie, although he reminds me of alzner. But juulsen will be a loss montreal regrets for years.
Just when i started to think ok finally MB is starting to make some decent moves, he does this, why bother paying $1.5M for Perry and Frolik, if ur just gonna put them on Waivers? I was excited to finally have some grit, and i know Perry only had a handful of goals last season, but he did well in the playoffs, and we dont have ANY players who really light it up during playoffs, Gallagher maybe, but u can pretty much always count on a good game out of Gally.
Man am I mad I knew he was gonna get claimed and he can easily be a top 4 guy starting from this year 😔
Happy Dance the Dark cloud is over Lou Eriksson
Louie Louie Whoa you gotta go!
Well goodbye Loui! It's the end of the Loui Eriksson empty net goal era!
Straight forward protecting the younger players from getting nabbed. Loui the Beast Erkisson will likely get in the line up 5-10 games in. They still have not found that PK guy yet to replace him, but they are at least giving other guys a good look this year. Playing the PK is a very underrated skill and why Tanev will be missed this year even though Hamonic is pretty good at that spot. Hopefully Swiner can continue to ramp up his game as the season gets going. He looks better than he is due to the fact that he is in mid season form and the NHL guys are still in training camp. We will see what he has got at the 5-10 game mark. Hope he keeps bringing it. Should be a fun start to the season with so many new faces to digest into the team.
re Eriksson; seems Canucks may just be planning to put him on the Taxi Squad… or if AHL.. they could save $1m of Cap space… which -they do seem to be 1.4m over…. so apparently Owner has agreed to pay Eriksson to basically not play… so generous of him. but is AHL functioning? creates some options… The ower will have to do the same again next Yr… must be a bit ticked at Benning for all the overpaying to save Benning's job; Eriksson, Sutter, Ferland, Baerchi, Luongo, Roussel, Beagle… giving up pick for Taffoli, Leivo…
-Overpaying these guys puts lot of pressure on the rest of team to carry them when underpaid.. so these can get PAID. &Boesser overPd.
Actually think Nucks are 1.45m over…. but by waiving Baertchi & Erisson… will free up 2.15m…. leaving ~1.3m for Hoglander or someone…. Previous guys likely on the taxi… no value in having them take away spots from developing guys on the AHL team..
Darn it I knew someone would pick him up. Best of luck to to him. He’s going to be a nhl defensemen mark my words.
4 years.
I guess changing your channel name isnt possible?
Panthers suck!
I want Loui on Canucks first lime.
Eriksson's still almost certainly gonna be skating for the Canucks this year. If injuries happen on the wings, which they will, I think he's probably the primary callup. More than that, if the Canucks PK doesn't look up to snuff, he could be called up, too. If you forget that nightmarish hell contract, Loui's still a serviceable defensive forward in the bottom six. He has value as a PK guy. He'll likely be given time. Hopefully, just not much. I doubt he gets sent to Utica, but I suppose crazier things have happened. Probably taxi squad time, though I'd love to hear otherwise. It would mean some of the young guys are being given a chance.
Who’s gonna step up and get the empty net goals now?
SO "The Habs Pretty Much STOLE Corey Perry… From The Ottawa Senators "?
I think Loui is a decent two-way player and I think most people don’t like him because he’s very expensive and because he hasn’t produced the expected goals. Other than that he’s quite ok.
Lego don't forget this "With the first overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft the Chicago Blackhawks select ….. Shane Wright out of the Kingston
Frontiacs"
What is taxi squad?
Juulsen…what a mistake to have send this guy on waivers…Probably worst move since trading McDonagh to the Rangers…Eurggg!
Loui ain't going anywhere
