  1. ‘Play me or trade me’ is the reason why the NHL has free agency… however when their contracts expire the reality is RFA’s are not as free to seek employment elsewhere as UFA’s are … salary caps, waiver draft, entry draft and controlled free agency are major reasons why the NHL can field 32 competitive franchises … both on and off the ice Professional sport is a complicated business but it also is the reason why so many of these ‘kids’ are multi-millionaires before they are 30

  2. If a player requests to be traded you first have to find out the reason why and if it's due to personal reasons such as not getting along with the other players or hating living in the particular city then you should make every effort to trade the guy. It's also understandable if you aren't going to give a player a fair amount of ice time as overall stats do affect a players value over the years. If this is the type of thing that is going on in the locker room then this could be one of the reasons they have been on a losing streak. One or two unhappy players can make all the difference. I personally think there is an issue with the coach myself.

  3. Stan needs to step up. Right now he has benefit of a mgmt group that drafted him, who is committed to him and wants to develop him. If he goes somewhere else he will not have the same level of confidence from a new team where they don’t know him. If he’s making noise now, then gets traded and it doesn’t work out he could be playing in Europe or Russia by the time he’s 27. Pro sports rule number 1: always be better than your baggage.

  4. You do understand where Stanley is coming from… Since entering the NHL, his number of games played kept increasing from year to year, including having dressed for 8playoff games in 2021.
This year his number of games played has decreased, dramatically. Some of it is due to injury, but a lot of it is due to Samberg outplaying him.
Stanley's camp most probably informed the Jets that he wanted to be traded a long time before this was disseminated publicly.
Chevy has probably been offering him up in tade offers; but Stanley's camp wanted all other teams to be aware and see if there was enough interest.
They probably figure that if Jets are buying at the deadline there would be no excuse for Stanley not to go as part of a trade.
Unfortunately for Stanley, he's an RFA (with arbitration rights). Jets don't have to do anything if the right offer doesn't come around. Chevy has shown that he makes deals on his terms; not on players' terms.

  5. logan stanley could be a bust but at that height he will get more chances
wiebe just said that logan will not be traded but it would not surprise him if he was traded

  6. Not really a high priority for the team. If the Jets make any moves on D, Stanley will be 8th or 9th on their depth chart. If they can include him to get a roster player in return, then they might do something but otherwise just hang onto him for the season in case of injuries.

  7. Stanley to phili in a jvr trade. Or Stanley for fabbro,Foote,Moser,Vallimaki,TySmith,JakeBean,Ferarro all younger. Or a similar young player who could use new start zadina.
Sometime young players need to put it on themselves if you progress push someone out top 6/9fwd or top 5 dman. Make hard decisions for management.
I Agree move Stanley while value high or other players. Logan is lucky be in NHL he's in position make it or be AHL/NHL bubble guy. Ex Pouliot,Harrington,Joe Morrow,Haydn Fluery,Honka, zboril,Juolevi, xavier Ouellet.

  8. For the most part IMO this year under this new coach because of his injuries taken for the team and the fact that Mgmt hasn't made any room for him and the young guys being blocked by veterans D.the team needed to move out 2 spots for young D and that hasn't happened. He needs to play the required 3-4 yrs for a Big D to develop into Nhl veteran D. Ie ,Charsma and Bufflyien took a good 3 -4 years. I think it will be a mistake not giving him space and time to do that. Down the road he will be a 3,4 pairing. You cant plan for anything with people in the way. Should have moved Pionk .

  9. Stanley’s failure to develop foot speed is on him. No one else. His skating regressed over two years.

  10. Mike McIntyre looks like he’s packing on the weight again. Tell him to stop doing interviews looking like a homeless bum.

  11. Bowness didn’t know Logan was on the Jets until he saw this video.
