I'm on the other side of the world and I've been following the NHL for just 3 years. But even I recognise Draisatl as one of the very best. Who cares if he gets over shadowed by his superstar teammate? Who gives a shit about media hype and fan recognition? McDavid & Draisatl are the 2 reasons why I like watching Edmonton games. I don't really split them. In my mind, they are both equals… Just enjoy watching them play. Don't find reasons to complain. (The guy on this channel always has a negative slant on everything…)

It’s a false premise. Leon is getting a ton of press coverage and hockey fans everywhere are talking about him and recognize his elite status.
The idea superstars put teammates in a shadow is obtuse. The exact opposite happens – they shine a light on teammates. The more people tune in to Oiler games to see McDavid, the more they see how great Leon is. Period. Leon is basking in it because he is elite and Connor brought even more eyeballs to witness it.

My favourite thing about people who think Leon is only good because of McDavid is when you tell them to watch Oilers games to prove their argument wrong.
They’ll either tune into the one game where their argument is proven right, or they’ll say “why would I waste my time with them, they’re not my team” thus never proving their argument invalid lol.

The people who have all these negative comments don't watch these two on a nightly basis. These guys are both elite superstars and us oilers fans appreciate these a lot. We know what we have in these two players and we are loving it. Outsiders are just looking for something to complain about and/or just to get people talking.

Everyone knows that Leon is a superstar player, but your correct he does not get no where near enough credit for how good he is. Mcdavid is the best player in the league and it’s not close, but i truly think there’s an argument that Leon is number 2. I don’t know if I would put him at 2, but if someone said to me the two best players in the league were in Edmonton I would not push back. People see the point totals and immediately say he’s good but he plays with mcdavid. If you would sit and watch Leon play you would quickly realize he is unreal, his size and the speed he has for his size is surprising. He’s got everything a player needs size, he can shoot and score, he has top tier play making abilities, he is pretty solid on the defensive end, he wins draws. He is a top 5 player in the league no debate, where u rank him in there is your opinion but he is unreal, and I have no doubt in my mind he will go into the hall of fame one day.

Writers do this because it gets views. The thing I like about McDavid and Drai is they help each other. Leon worked to get McDavid to 60 goals and now McDavid is doing what he can to bring Draisaitl up too.
