What’s up with these former Red wings players crying about getting traded it’s pathetic to watch really
Well let's forget Detroit's not doing well and listen to these players.
They are still elite athletes.
I thought when Carey Price of all players, came out with his substance abuse issue -the media would finally pick up on it. But instead we're going to social justice issues for everyone else BUT hockey players
George Parros, (once an enforcer?) Head ofvplayer safety committee is nothing more than a fundraiser for the NHL discretionary funds, that's where those suspension & fines monies end up – not helping players
NHL has a don't ask, don't tell policy on substances-teams give players medications, like benzos & Ambien, without the authority of their team doctors.
Sports reporters turn a blind eye, so they don't lose access or media rights
I think the NYR Boogaard family's NHL unlawful death lawsuit got turned away by a judge sometime in the past decade
Someone on the Caps got a 4(?) Year suspension a few years ago, testing positive for cocaine. Which isn't considered a performance- enhancement drug
Yet, team doctors give out thousands of painkillers. These guys are paid to be exploding testosterone and puberty on ice – the pills are a setup
Yes,it's typical for addicts to whine-
However, there's a strong thread of truth –
something more behind the scenes.
Lehner wrote a book on it. And one of the main themes of modern athletes beyond Derek Sanderson and earlier guys-
The NHL still does nothing about it. Don't ask, don't tell.
Coaches don't consult with team doctors they're giving the players medications
And team doctors don't tell anyone they're giving them painkillers
At least they only say it behind closed doors
There's been a few deaths that have been brushed under the rug the last decade.
Some of these guys who've come out of the NHL 30-day program we're grateful because it saved their lives, but it damaged their careers-
Not because of their skills or playing ability,
because it exposed a dark side of the NHL
Bobby Orr doesn't want to talk about his early days
-I was part of his fan club back in the day.
Now that I'm much older-I don't blame him. 😏
I wonder about our new boy Bertuzzi – he looked a bit shocked, deer stunned in the headlights coming out of Detroit
🐻
I'm here, in Detroit. We knew what was going on and waited for him to get the help he needed. Supported him when he said he needed more. No problem. The issue we had was when he didn't play and then complained when he went to Grand Rapids. Like, bud you haven't played at this level in a year. Warm up. Try first. Let's see what you have left before you jump back into the deep end here. But no, he just started whining and complaining. That's when he lost quite a few fans, but there were still a ton behind him. And honestly, I do wish Jake luck in the future, I adored watching him play. He's fast and exciting and can make plays. But to me he seems like one of those Lindros-type players that keeps asking for more and not showing up to the line.
For me, the issue was timing! He knew he had a problem. He had time to go into the assistance program in the off-season. A time when it would not hurt the team that is trying to rebuild with u as one of the corner pieces. But it is hard to build when ur not there. I get the shoulder injuries and the rehab. But, come on. The Wings tried and u just threw it away.
Detroit is the shat hole of the world .. Go Bs
As a Blues fans I couldn't be happier. This kid is a beast. If he stays healthy, he'll be a huge part of the Blues rebuild.
Yzerman is a wizard. His leadership will go down in history. Ha Ha Ha
Im just happy Armstrong didnt lose a trade with Yzerman for once lol
