What happened to Sam, he used to give JD crap in the 1990's when the Rangers were tough and JD loved it saying stuff like John in the overall scheme of things what does that fight mean?

I remember when Mike Eagles was running around being a wiseguy and needed to be straighten out and Joey Kocur knocked him nearly out cold. JD says Sam don't look and groaned saying boom three times as Joey decked Eagles!
JD goes ooh there's a right hand knockout!
Then they showed the replay and he told Sam not to look!
After the replay Sam goes can I look now!
Now with a non-fighting NHL that guys like Sam Rosen wanted he's all excited about the Cuylle fight!
