You can tell that they don't watch much of the Oilers when they don't credit Vincent "The Friendly Giant" Desharnais joining the team being the reason for their turnaround.
Ekholm coming in really solidified things but having Desharnais come in and play solid D (he has yet to score a goal) and only focusing on that was what the Oilers really needed. Nurse and Barrie had offensive upsides but with McD and Drai on your team you just need shut down guys who keep it simple.
It all started in December, and they've been on a tear since.
