The World Poker Tour (WPT) is a series of international poker tournaments and associated television series broadcasting the final table of each tournament. It was started in the United States by attorney/television producer Steven Lipscomb, who served as CEO of WPT Enterprises (WPTE), the firm that controlled the World Poker Tour up to November 2009. In 2008, the WPT started offering bracelets to its event champions. Players who won a title prior to the release of the WPT Bracelet, were given one retroactively.

this video clearly shows the evolution of poker. This was before balancing range was a thing; other players were amazed when Laak turned over 2 5o. 4 and 5 bets were extremely scarce. Terms like 'blockers to the nut flush' was not a part of poker even considered then.. I don't think the commentators used the word blocker one time (which is kind of a relief given how much Feldman and other people do now lol.
Everyone but Laak played ABC poker. Was this before or after Durrrrrrrr and other LAG superstars?
Edit: The lack of stealing on the button, as well as obsessive UTG shoves were just insane.
